Moderator luizoruivo Posted September 29, 2018 Moderator #1 Posted September 29, 2018 Hello everyone, was trying to complete the challenge of the 5 red diamonds when I asked myself: What is the chance of falling 5 red diamonds in a game? Anyone good in statistics, or excel, to answer my question? Is it just that I kept asking myself that? Edit1: The game has 7 different diamonds: Yellow, orange, red, purple, blue, and two colored. the statistical calculation is 1/7 * 1/7 * 1/7 * 1/7 * 1/7 = 1/16807 this means that the chance is 1 for each 16807 games, or approximately 0,00005%
ceastem Posted October 16, 2018 #2 Posted October 16, 2018 which is almost impossible since every roll the chances restart haha. anyways good job to the ones that finished this challenge!
77kdub Posted October 16, 2018 #3 Posted October 16, 2018 The banker beat me with 5 red diamonds that's when I decided to give that one up.....I really hate diamond poker now so even more lol
irawk0 Posted October 16, 2018 #4 Posted October 16, 2018 I gave up after hitting 4 red diamonds like.... 10 times in 2 days. I just went screw you diamond poker and blew everything on dice yoloing Thanks for the calculations though, looks like the chances of winning that one was slim as hell.
Tokyo06 Posted October 30, 2018 #5 Posted October 30, 2018 Every roll the chance reset, so your % it's false.
williamshennie9 Posted October 30, 2018 #6 Posted October 30, 2018 I wish there was a bot for diamond poker, like the dicebot they have. It would make life so much easier, even for this week's challenge...

ScooterPi Posted October 30, 2018 #8 Posted October 30, 2018 From May until today, I have only ever gotten 5 red diamonds once. After seeing your probability calc, I guess I should feel lucky with that! It was months ago that I hit it. The only reason I remember so vividly is because I thought there ought to be a higher percentage payout for such a rare win! lol And yeah.......i eventually gave up on this challenge.
Moderator maverick528 Posted October 30, 2018 Moderator #9 Posted October 30, 2018 Luck plays a very very important part in this.... One night a High Roller promised 0.01BTC if you rolled a 5-of-a-kind. I did it, and several other people too. And then somebody asked "if you hit 5-of-a-kind twice, you will pay twice?" and the High Roller answered YES. So I started trying again, and half hour later got another 5-of-a-kind.....

When i did the hodgepodge challenge, it took me 5hours. XD I guess luck plays a very vital role in this just like in every challenge. I wasnt even lucky enough to be there the night that you are talking about haha
DancerCat Posted October 31, 2018 #11 Posted October 31, 2018 all is based on luck. calculation can help you only to see how much your balance can stand.
ekzxc Posted October 31, 2018 #12 Posted October 31, 2018 It wont be called gambling if you're not depending on your luck
JEEPERS0029 Posted October 31, 2018 #13 Posted October 31, 2018 so I couldn't help you but your question is very relevant! I think it's always good to know!!good luck for the future!
jualid Posted October 31, 2018 #14 Posted October 31, 2018 Uh, i don't know about how much is the percentage of the probability of 5 reds but it's possible to hit that.

The calculation is OK, its 1 chance every 16807 rolls. You must remember this is an average. This means that if you hit 1000 times the 5-of-a-kind and make an average between the number of rolls needed each time, you will get a number close to this one. But it can happen that you get the 5-of-a-kind in just 1 roll, or it can take 100K rolls, or even more.
EddieFx Posted October 31, 2018 #17 Posted October 31, 2018 The chances are so low, the ones who got the challenge, you are so good
