MilunM Posted May 12, 2025 #1 Posted May 12, 2025 Hey Friends, Over these several weeks, I’ve noticed many of you have hobby projects that you like to work on, from time to time. Therefore, I thought I would like to share a little about my project that sadly ended, maybe ended too soon… This is, or more accurately, WAS my Toyota GT86. I kept it clean and street legal, which made it a great daily and a weekend car 💪 I had a flex fuel option for ethanol, for those track days, and petrol for those days to commute to work 🧑💼 Back when I had it tuned, it was making around 325kW at the wheels. That was more than enough to comfortably stay ahead of most stock or mapped WRXs and Evos—which were pretty common competition where I lived. You might think it was some crazy, high-dollar build, but honestly, it was surprisingly straightforward. I ran a Sprintex bolt-on supercharger, a full Invidia exhaust setup with long UEL headers, upgraded intake parts, filters—the usual supporting mods. From the outside, it looked like a bit of a sleeper… though the exhaust note definitely gave a little hint that something fun was going on under the hood! 😆 My mechanic, who enjoyed the project, did some fine-tuning, and we got it tuned by long-standing and trusted professionals. Other modifications I had installed: - Semisleek Tyres - Aftermarket tailights - Wrapped roof - Sports Suspensions - Drilled Break disks Sadly, like all good things, they come to an end. A piston was blown during a race because I had red-lined it a "little" too much. I ended up replacing the engine and selling some parts separately. Dismantling the Spritnex Supercharger (which hurt me the most), and returning it to stock except the shocks and some other minor things. Though it was a stock engine (and it was mapped), the new owner who bought it off me still enjoyed it quite a bit. Now I am planning my next project with another GT86, but might do a JDL turbo setup or LS swap (imagine) 😂 I'd love to hear what you’re working on right now—whether it’s a car, a bike, or anything else you’ve been excited about! Share it here, I would love to read about it 👇

SupItsJ Posted May 21, 2025 #6 Posted May 21, 2025 Well in light of Stake.World i thought I would try to capitalize on this industry visionary and decided to also create a web 3 merch store, but not just any: one build for creators to enable their income streams and deploy to any domain name they purchase. I've finished a lot of the basic data base schema and I did some cool tricks with color scale customizations with dark / light themes for users to have any coloring or contrast they prefer! Let me know what you guys think of the idea / project? I really liked the idea of giving creators the ability to sell their own branded NFTs also to their fans as collectibles with professional designers behind the images. (for context im a professional web designer and engineer, do not go to any website or infered website this is not a production ready app its simply concept and provides no functionality beyond the aesthetics which you can see here without risks) Technologies used: typescript, react, tailwind CSS, shadCDN, next js and supabase posgres backend for storage of various media types.
