Annoying @ tags in chat

Sooo... another day on stake and we've got a new feature which most likely was meant to be useful but it turned out super annoying.

Those blue tags don't just look annoying... they also take up most space in chat and they add to the spam factor of the whole chat. If you do it once everyone does it and then chat is spammed with blue bars that are stinging in your eyes.

Maybe make the colour slightly less vibrant or just make it a light grey bar. Or make it so only the person tagged sees it as the blue bar and not everyone!

I like the tags, but at the moment you can tag anything. I think the code should be updated so that you can only tag users that have accounts on Stake (and not just random stuff).

Or the way it used to be where it is only bold if someone mentions your username. And maybe @everyone feature for staff would be cool if they could add it

Or simply an option to turn the tag highlight off 😛

I was super excited to see that there was some sort of tag system update for chat. 

Buuuuttt......I agree with you David.  The largeness, randomnes, and the ......err......blue-ness of the tags makes chat more difficult to read. 

Also, having basically anything with the @ sign highlighted makes it just as difficult  to navigate chat and find the bits of info or conversation you are in.

I'm sure that Dev's will be tweaking it to find the best setting for chat users. 

Things that would make it more helpful (imho):

-less bright of a blue color

-if someone tags you by putting @'username', then the message is highlighted so it is not missed.

Would be nice if it only highlighted when you are the one being mentioned.

Surprisingly I did not find the same problem as you in Portuguese chat.

I agree with that, I literally need to look elsewhere sometimes because of the brightness.

I liked the tag system, but an underline similar to the bet fairness would be better.

Lol I agree, it doesn't make sense for everyone to blinded with it if it's supposed to notify a person that they are mentioned. It would be better if only the person mentioned sees the blue highlight and it could also have an alert pop up in the persons notifications.

Thank you for featuring me in the screenshot lol. I think that much can be fixed for this blue tag, also isn't it suppose to only highlight for the person whom is tagged? I think that developers should look into this.

Well its not that annoying if you use it in the light mode

It can be useful in situations where you really need to grabs someone's attention in public chat but it would probably and most of the time be misused by certain users who just wanna attract the full attention of HIgh-Roller to break some bread with them. lol

Yeah its definitely something that wasn't implemented as intended. I have updated a ticket regarding these issues for spike to fix.
