Are you facing withdrawl delays of up to a week?

Coinbase Users attempting to withdraw digital assets from their Coinbase accounts are facing unexplained delays, according to sources in contact with CryptoGlobe. The users in mainly  are U.S.-based, and  so far no reports have been made of similar delays for non-U.S. customers.

The withdrawal delays are reportedly affecting all Coinbase assets. Several users reported withdrawal delays of up to a week, and that the delays had been occurring for two weeks. There are no reports of the delays being mirrored on the Coinbase Pro platform, Coinbase’s institutional trading platform formerly known as GDAX.These recent reports are nothing new, as the San Francisco-based tech firm at the center of the crypto industry has faced serious and repeated allegations of holding users’ funds since late 2017, when the price of most crypto currencies exploded.

A Coinbase representative says at the time that the delays had been due to unexpectedly high trading volume, causing downtime during the dramatic rise in crypto prices during late 2017/early 2018. The company has recently taken steps to rectify this fault, by upgrading its transaction and “surge” capacity by “1000%” earlier this year, as well as hiring hundreds of new employees. In August, Coinbase’s trading volume was reported to have plummeted up to 83% since the January peak, making overcapacity an unlikely explanation for the present delays.Coinbase, a U.S. company founded in 2013, also offers services in a total of 30 other countries. The supposedly $8 billion company has apparently had trouble attracting institutional investors, having recently discontinued its high-net-worth index fund product, itself only launched a few months ago.

i personally don't use coinbase so looking in from the outside i would say its about to lose more of it reputation for allowing delay to go on for so long , i imagine users will be filing complaints left right and centre.

As the article you pasted noted, this is nothing new with Coinbase.  They were also famous for seizing user's coins for "suspicious" activity, which if you are unfortunate enough to live in the USA can include things like sending or receiving coins from gambling sites like Stake.

I would advise everyone to keep their coins off Coinbase unless you are going to trade them and never send to or from them from Stake or any other gambling site directly.

If you don't control your private keys you don't control your coins.

Good Luck!

Yeah when i first got into bitcoin, i first used coinbase. They have always had that delayed transaction send, it was very annoying and they are very nosy with your bussiness.

Unfortunately in my case, Malaysia is not supported for purchasing/selling Bitcoins on Coinbase. From reading the article though, if such delays are happening it is definitely a very worrying inconvenience.
