What is this game League of Legends?

I never understood this game when I saw Mikey playing it on his stream. What exactly happens in it, and why is it so hyped?

This game is currently one of the best moba games all time two teams clashes at one match 5v5 one fighter, one mage, one assassin, one tank and one marksman every game pretty much goes at least 15 minutes and there’s a lot of mod’s for to people searching more than just chasing wins to rank up
