Moderator luizoruivo Posted October 16, 2018 Moderator #1 Posted October 16, 2018 Me and several people witnessed a person who created an account in this forum just to make an attempt to push a "promotion" on us. @DarkBlood069 made an excellent topic on how to identify a scam system, but I believe we should do more to combat scammers. I believe that new accounts with less than 10 posts should not be able to create topics, this would make it difficult for people to simply enter the forum to try to push some dubious site on us. I know this would make it difficult for people to introduce themselves in the sector where it is done, but it could be allowed there.

But that's just my opinion. good idea but they can just let them create topic till they reach 50 post and weager some X amount

Kate Posted October 16, 2018 #4 Posted October 16, 2018 Well there was a scammer in the site like a few minutes ago making us download an extension

EddieFx Posted October 16, 2018 #6 Posted October 16, 2018 Yeah, there’s scammers on the site sometimes but if we did this it would remove new olaters as they would not join, that’s not good for the brand
Mlc Posted October 16, 2018 #7 Posted October 16, 2018 Great idea I kinda feel like William made a good point though too , stake tries to encourage new players to join in the community some new users do have really good posts too , so I do like the idea or the ten post minimum to create a new topic but I’m not totally against it if not 😁
irawk0 Posted October 16, 2018 #8 Posted October 16, 2018 Any sort of filter to block scam accounts would help tbh. However, they will always be trying new methods. There are ways to get past the $25 wagered blockage as well as the forum post count requirement quickly so the only thing I think would help is each account's first 10 forum posts remain hidden and have to be personally approved by mods.
Etude Posted October 16, 2018 #9 Posted October 16, 2018 It seems like there is this one same guy so far who keeps trying to post a irrelevant website to promote at the Stake Discussion section persistently too. It is posed as a cashback something? Whereby the post is then removed but it appears again soon enough in Stake discussion again, lol.

Yes, did he promise to give back 25% of the value or something? Basically a scam. I lost 250k of satoshis to a scam, and saw people who lost much more. It seems like every day they invent a new scam, this makes me angry.
