Mlc Posted October 16, 2018 #1 Posted October 16, 2018 Hello everyone! I was floating around in chat the other day and noticed some users saying how they needed to make a certain amount of coins back because it’s all they had ,and iv come across it before when people say they need to feed the family (not always on stake ) and it made me wonder if they were really that bad off or just saying it . I along with most active long time players on stake deposit quite frequently, but personally I won’t go out of way and spend the last bit of money I have in the hope of making a little profit. I’m not sure how many people would agree with me but I just want to say it’s not wise to spend your last dollar On a casino, I don’t know what it’s like personally to be in that situation because I only play what I can afford, I understand some people are not as fortunate as myself and others but some times you need to take into consideration the fact that most of us work hard for what we have and can afford the luxuary and going on and on about it in chat is not the way to go about getting the help you need especially not in a casino, So if you have found yourself depositing and playing and the having to deposit again and again to the point your spending the last bit of money you have buying crypto coins to play on stake, then maybe you need to stop for little and take a break , making yourself skint (penniless) is not going to fair well for the following day when you wake up and realise you haven’t got a penny to scratch your ass with. How often have you spent your last bit of money to play on stake ? Did you come off better or worse for it ? Were you super lucking or just plain pissed off ? I would love to hear you thoughts on this guys xx
irawk0 Posted October 16, 2018 #2 Posted October 16, 2018 I've heard plenty of stories of people selling houses cars, getting 2nd, 3rd, even 4th mortgages just to gamble so I would definitely believe there are some people out there doing the exact same thing on Stake. However, I feel like 99% of those on Stake that claim to do that are just passive sympathy begging, because they get happy over 10k ETH or something ridiculously small you can make more picking up cans and taking em to the recycle plants. I would definitely take any story with a grain of salt. They are either lying in which case no point wasting time listening or trying to help, or they are just too addicted to gambling in which case there is equally no point helping because you know 100% that money will be going to feed Gary.
Etude Posted October 16, 2018 #3 Posted October 16, 2018 Since its gambling, it is very easy to bet every single last of your money in attempt to both chase profit and chase for losses recovery. This pretty much creates a endless cycle scenario that keeps repeat with the result being usually one ending up dirt broke if no decent self-control is applied.

I, once, did this on PD. I depoed an amount of money that is for something important. I intended to make it double. Good thing, I was able to double it, even more, and withdrawn. But the feeling of gambling that money was not good. Point is, money for something like family budget must not be compromised by gambling. I think all here, or mostly, are mature enough to realize that. Unless you're a kid, or a single person who doesn't have responsibilities. Spend money wisely. ✌🏽
williamshennie9 Posted October 17, 2018 #5 Posted October 17, 2018 I'm not sure about online gambling, but I know of stories from my local casino about people who have taken bank loans, sold their vehicles, their homes, just to gamble. I would be very sad if people do this on Stake, because then gambling is no longer a hobby, it is a serious addition, and the person who is doing these things should get help immediately.

I definitely agree with this. I have friends, who got ripped by themselves due to addiction in gambling. Cars, houses.. All that has value. All gone. Well, I must say that the same thing can happen on an online casino, since it has the same concept as local casinos. In fact, more prone. Since online casinos are more accessible.

Moderator Flan Posted October 17, 2018 Moderator #8 Posted October 17, 2018 Some people usually fake their story to get a tip, like 98% are fake. and 2% people really bet his propety, cars. etc. Only, if you have some spare money to bet (I mean if you don't have to feed family, etc) you can bet it. In my opinion, people wants to win big. They risked everything, 50:50 (win or lose), even you playing low risk, you can have some profit. But sometimes, you can get busted your all-inned deposit. I don't know if others risked everything play at Stake, not in local casinos. We can't tell they faking or not, because it's online. It's internet, we can't trust easily to other people.

The main key problem here would be the deep addiction where everything else including logic and reason has been forgone. They are willing to sacrifice everything including their own family in order to try in making a recovery or just for plain self gratification in some cases.
jinz Posted October 17, 2018 #10 Posted October 17, 2018 I don't deposit much, the funds that I use to play is either from rains or from the prizes of forum challenges and giveaways so gambling it is fine whether the results are win or lose (but I prefer it to be a win). I won't go that far selling my things or taking part of the monthly budget just to gamble, it is not a wise move since I am the bread winner of the family.
