mac254 Posted July 23, 2025 #1 Posted July 23, 2025 (edited) The stake poker freeroll started off well. It was a $ 1,000 tourney running for about 2 hours. It was basic, simple UI but it got the job done. They promised they were working hard behind the scenes to make it superb, best in the market. But the first update was to half the prize pool to $ 500. Even though they later increased the frequency of the tourneys to 4 in a day, this is still a step back. Then ofcourse, beyond stepping into the past, they began jumping, by making them last 4hrs+. Initialy they had people joining 8 hours before to an hour after it started. They fixed this but meeh. Now they have reduced the prize pool to as low $ 200. Winner gets less than 30 bucks after almost 5 hours. For abit the timings of when the tourney happens were getting changed almost every other day. It's like the one organising has no clue of what they are doing. Whoever, is organising this poker is doing a pretty abismal job. If you going to make the tourney last longer then increase the prize. If you decrease the prize make it a superturbo then increase the frequency of tourneys in a day. Have the toruneys happen every 2 hours or like 10 in a day. These are the things that will make it more exciitng. Then create satellites that lead into bigger events. E.g have satelites in the week buidling up to a major event on Saturday where people can even stream on Kick with a prize pool of like $ 15,000 - $ 25,000, or whatever makes financial sense. Introduce buy ins into the bigger satellites or main events like $ 50 -$ 250 for those who did not get in through the freeroll satellites or did not have the time. Spread out the prizes to where the last guys gets the buy in amount. Few winners with quality prizes is better than many winners with cents. Edited September 22, 2025 by mac254 MasEmpathy 1
Joacogrand Posted July 23, 2025 #4 Posted July 23, 2025 Estoy en total de acuerdo. Los freerolls han caído mucho... ojala lo arreglen MasEmpathy 1
Szechuan1 Posted July 24, 2025 #5 Posted July 24, 2025 Dmn i thought im the only one who noticed. Winning the free roll is not really worth it anymore, 2-4hrs of playing to win $30 lol MasEmpathy 1
JWinR Posted July 24, 2025 #6 Posted July 24, 2025 win 30$ after 4 hours of playing only in 0.1% percent chance. In stake it is 0.01% because of bots who call/or go all in with any cards and 90% of time randomly wins
whenyourtoohigh Posted July 25, 2025 #9 Posted July 25, 2025 💯 poker has been shit since the updates not worth winning it anymore
NannaDT Posted July 26, 2025 #10 Posted July 26, 2025 Sooo true!! But still 2300 people still join!! So shameless

Hoovanutz Posted August 2, 2025 #14 Posted August 2, 2025 Agreed. Its not getting any better sadly. Wish they'd do satellites leading to a huge final weekly.
AragornX Posted August 4, 2025 #15 Posted August 4, 2025 I used to play these freerolls earlier but now it's feels like waste of time.
ReachRosh Posted August 5, 2025 #16 Posted August 5, 2025 (edited) In my opinion we should accept and be happy with this. Stake has the right and reason to do this. Edited August 5, 2025 by ReachRosh
