Snike Posted October 18, 2018 #1 Posted October 18, 2018 I've seen a lot of "0 satoshi prize" trivia bot messages in stake chat lately. I think the stake trivia bot should have a min amount just like tips and other bots, etc. There's no reason to do 0 prize trivias except trolling. Just thought about putting this to discussion here, I'm sure that this is nowhere near a priority for the devs currently but it shouldnt be too hard to change!
williamshennie9 Posted October 18, 2018 #2 Posted October 18, 2018 I think the Trivia bot should deduct the amount from the user's balance before the question is posted. That way, we won't have fake trivias. Also there can be a timer of say 3 minutes, to "refund" the player if nobody answers the trivia correctly.

Didnt think so far ahead this would make it faster too!

A very well thought out proposal to solve this issue.

Now let's see what the admins think of this. @Dan what do you think of this proposal?
bloomy Posted October 21, 2018 #6 Posted October 21, 2018 Some players are really good in trolling.. I agree with that of deducting in the balance of the user for us not to do skem trivias and for the user not to expect anything .

I like this idea as people sometimes does trivias and don't even patout, not okay! Good idea!

This would really improve the chatroom so much!
Dan Posted October 22, 2018 #9 Posted October 22, 2018 Interesting idea, will discuss with the devs. The reason why we would see issues is if someone puts the wrong answer in the modal, or the bot breaks and you cant get your money out.
wry Posted October 22, 2018 #10 Posted October 22, 2018 I've noticed an uptick in this too and really would like to be clearly authorized to mute users for this. No prize trivia and spam trivia that are never going to pay out like "guess what number I am thinking of" and the "answer" is 124.7 make chat look active but are basically trolling.
bobdole Posted October 22, 2018 #11 Posted October 22, 2018 Yeah I was thinking the same thing, deduct the amount before and also don't allow the trivia if the person doesn't even have enough balance.
kayke94 Posted October 22, 2018 #12 Posted October 22, 2018 yep those are horrible lol just why not before using trivia bot put an win amount in it before even start it
Paecga129 Posted October 22, 2018 #13 Posted October 22, 2018 I have only seen this happen like once or twice ... Is super annoying though but what do you do!

In this case, I think the bot should have a timer built in of say 3 minutes, to automatically cancel the trivia if nobody guesses it. The problem of people posting "Guess the number" trivias, is that they can simply avoid using the bot if their goal is to create spam. It's a tricky situation to find a solution for, but I think changing the bot setup is a step in the right direction

Cool, it is good to know that we might actually see this get implemented in chat.

ravenyvolle2 Posted October 22, 2018 #17 Posted October 22, 2018 Haha seems new players or alts do these things often. Or pretend they sent prizes already but in reality, didnt send anything at all.
