I realize this is a little different than many of the crypto news stories posted here but this one is worth not only checking out but bookmarking for future reference.

As you know, many people like to slam Bitcoin and other crypto currencies because they supposedly make it so easy for bad guys to launder money.  However, as this story shows, Danske Bank (in Denmark) laundered over 200 Billion, that's Billion with a B, USD for the Russians.  All without touching a single crypto currency!

People that use KYC and anti-money laundering arguments against Bitcoin are engaged in the intellectual equivalent of blaming the boogey man.  I can't wait to throw this story in their face every time they try to slander Bitcoin with such a lame argument.

As long as there's been the idea of a currency there's been laundering happening. Like when the Swiss helped the Nazis launder god knows how much money during WW2. Comparatively bitcoin is so new I'm surprised at the idiocy of people complaining about it when compared to how much actual money have been laundered in the past century alone.

That's like complaining a new country acquiring atomic weapons will end the world when for the past 6-7 decades both US and Russia could've single-handedly destroyed the world. (coughIraq/Irancough)

It's like I've always said with everyone saying that bitcoin causes scams and fraud. Any asset that has value, whether it be cash or physical goods, has the potential be be stolen and abused. It is just the reality that we live in...
