Its actually not entirely true seen as your ip address can be matched with initial bitcoin transactions, therefore leaving a visible digital trail behind. read this news article for more info source https://zycrypto.com/bitcoin-transactions-are-more-traceable-than-you-think-camila-russo/
williamshennie9 Posted October 27, 2018 #2 Posted October 27, 2018 Well, I guess if you're using a VPN, and you generate a new wallet address, which isn't used anywhere else, then I guess it is 100% anonymous. If you use your main internet connection, your IP address will be visible, so you won't be 100% anonymous.
Moderator Flan Posted October 27, 2018 Moderator #3 Posted October 27, 2018 Some people think it was anonymous. Well, you can't do any online transaction without network. The only way to trace some transaction was IP Address. But you can make it anonymous, by using Virtual Private Network. You can change it to any network by switching your IP over and over.
EddieFx Posted October 27, 2018 #4 Posted October 27, 2018 I always use a different VPN for every transaction so when I do transactions they are 100% anonymous and the wallet I use changes itself between every transaction too so Im 100% anonymous!
