Why would a gaming company buy a Bitcoin Exchange?

NXC, the same company that owns Nexon a well known gaming company (they make Counter Strike and Maple Story) has just bought out BitStamp.  While they already own Korbit, a Korean exchange, this is a big move as BitStamp is one of the bigger western exchanges.

I'm really curious why the big move into crypto.  Is there a lot of trading in these games?  Even if so, it has to be a big expense to buy an exchange rather than simply offering a tradeable token or something.

Anyway, I thought it was interesting and figured I'd see if anyone has any insights.

I think the reason why these industries are moving into crypto and blockchain is because they are afraid of "missing out". If the world does adopt blockchain technology, these companies will be one step ahead of all their competitors and have a huge market share advantage.
