Jakubb Posted October 31, 2018 #1 Posted October 31, 2018 Hello guys. So an idea just came to me and I wanted to share it with the community. Since I know the community may not be as active compared to the gamblers on the casino, it's still pretty good and it could be improved. As we know, we get creative and different types of giveaways from Steve, etc nowadays. But some of us are surprised with the outcome and could disagree with the final judgement. So I was thinking of adding a feature so the Admins could choose a top 5 (depends on the giveaways of course) and then let the Stakers pick their winners by their choice by using the Poll feature. I think it would make it way better and more desirable for other to join and compete in the giveaways also giving us more freedom and control. Please note, this only applies to giveaways like the current Halloween costume-mask giveaway, talent show, wall paper etc, those type of giveaways. Please, share your thoughts about this idea, remember, for this to actually be considered, this needs recognition and supports from you, the community. I hope this isn't a bad idea and that you've liked it, have a great Halloween for the current time!
Dan Posted October 31, 2018 #2 Posted October 31, 2018 This is always abused with alts. Has been attempted many times in the past.

This does explain everything, thanks for the great response. Sadly the alts ruin the fun, but i believe this could be worked around somehow. I've just forgot the name for it, basically it's follows your cookies and the site recognises if you're an alt or not. But i understand this would take more work and that following the one IP = 1 entry could easily be walked around to by using a VPN. Sorry for my not good thinking just there , hah.

Thats currently what we do for checking if alts are created. People find ways to get past it Here's the thing, giveaways like that only have a few winners, so the majority of those type of giveaways are going to have people complaining, since only the winners are happy. No matter what we do, if you don't win, you will find a reason to complain.

That's really true true Dan, firstly the alts always find this way to get around all the protection and blocks, which is sad, but sadly nearly impossible to go against and make it stop. I also agree with your second statement, people always will find a way to complain about something if they didn't win. It's always the case, people complain about free things also, like rain and all. But that's also a unstoppable thing. Haha, hoping you're enjoying your Halloween so far, (If you're celebrate it) and I think you could close this thread, since I've got the answer and we can't go around it. Bye! Have a good evening.

Why not just have a reg-IP vote- not unlike the Exclusive Giveaways on Discord. All you would need is a wallet, something that everyone can mass produce.

ceastem Posted November 1, 2018 #10 Posted November 1, 2018 Well for me i think there would be no difference since it would still involve opinions of different people with different tastes. Dan is right that this may get abused with alts. We should just leave it with the judgement of the one giving the giveaways. After all, it is his giveaway. Sometimes we lose sometimes we win, let's just try again next time and hope for the best
Moderator luizoruivo Posted November 1, 2018 Moderator #11 Posted November 1, 2018 There are several good ideas that can not be used for a simple reason: When it involves money, there are always people who will try to exploit. The great challenge is to benefit good people while fighting against the evil ones.
xtinepink Posted November 1, 2018 #12 Posted November 1, 2018 This idea will put a serious alt creation. Making them to vote their entries ofc. If I may ask, let’s say the prizes are for top 3. Then there will be top 5 candidates, those candidates will be having a judging criteria that will be posted on the topic. Let’s say: creativity: 40% originality: 30% Concept wise: 30% Maybe support can be judges too?
davinmark Posted November 1, 2018 #13 Posted November 1, 2018 Its a good idea. But, to avoid an Alts maybe only Support or Moderator who can be the judges and do vote (?) so we can see the Percentage of the winner result too
otomatis Posted November 1, 2018 #14 Posted November 1, 2018 good idea, but leakers is everywhere. hahaha..

It always will be a satisfying loss if you knew where you lacked compared to other winning entries. And as for experience, having criterias for each competitions, prevents bias between opinions.
williamshennie9 Posted November 1, 2018 #16 Posted November 1, 2018 I think it should only be judged by the Stake team. If somebody really wants to win, they will created thousands of alts and bump up their entry. I agree with Dan, if we let the Stake team choose, at least we have the input and votes of 6+ people.
DviouS Posted November 1, 2018 #17 Posted November 1, 2018 Sounds like a solid idea, as long as the Staker has some reputation, or known by the community I would say. In order to smurf a bunch of votes for yourself, one would have to go thru alot of extra trouble, and not even be guaranteed any win

Well, sadly, like what Dan mentioned, this is abused, or I should say very prone to abuse by alts. It will not be fair enough.
jualid Posted November 1, 2018 #20 Posted November 1, 2018 It's a good idea but to prevent alts, use a big requirement to vote like minimum post 200 or have reputation minimum 20 or something else.
Jakubb Posted November 1, 2018 Author #21 Posted November 1, 2018 Understanding, but please don't repeat the same thing that 1 person said above in a different sentence structure, I know. Still i think the best idea if support team were to judge, since then there's more than 1 person judging it, which means a better, fair result.
Paecga129 Posted November 2, 2018 #22 Posted November 2, 2018 I like this idea a lot !!! Getting the community involved is way better idea than letting ... the ... umm ... upper management decide what is best ... hahaha 🙂 No offense

Sadly there's no way of doing it, other than just letting the OG players do it, or the ones with higher post count, etc.
Teemo Posted November 2, 2018 #24 Posted November 2, 2018 It’s be nice if there was some sort of requirement to prevent people from exploiting something like this.
bobdole Posted November 3, 2018 #25 Posted November 3, 2018 Yeah a poll would be great. They could only allow accounts that posted say 50 posts and are older than 3 months to be eligible to vote to avoid anyone cheating. I'd prefer a wide group judging compared to just a select group of site employees.
