Snike Posted November 4, 2018 #1 Posted November 4, 2018 The couple of last days the activity in the forum seems to be going down... Does this have something to do with the phase outs of marketplace and lending? It feels like the forum is being used to just create "useless" topics so there is at least something. I'm not sure if I'm the only one who sees it like this or if this is an actual thing happening What do you think? Did the recent actions affect the activity of the forum users or not?
williamshennie9 Posted November 4, 2018 #2 Posted November 4, 2018 It could have a correlation, as the marketplace and lending were very active places on the forum. I do agree with you that activity levels have decreased in the last month or so (from my observations). Even for myself, I use the forum less each day due to the fact that I have run out of ideas, and most of the topics that are created are somewhat pointless. I do create a post every now and then if I get an idea, but my ideas are getting less and less lol...
xtinepink Posted November 4, 2018 #3 Posted November 4, 2018 Well based on my observations there are even more activities going in the forum lately especially that there are many new members and the addition of Valued Member or should I say VIP. It is funny to think that there are less activity because of the removal of market place. You mean to say that there many activities before when market place was on? Like players who asks for loan or people who make exchanges? 😆
Etude Posted November 4, 2018 #4 Posted November 4, 2018 Content wise I believe has increased quite considerably in the forums lately. As @xtinepink mentioned, it could very well have something to do with new waves of VIP members (previously Valued Members). *looks around nervously* 😛
Dan Posted November 5, 2018 #5 Posted November 5, 2018 Most the marketplace was dead content. Only section that had anything going for it was lending, but even then that section only was used by people seeking trades. You couldn't get any satoshi from farming there so most people didn't waste their precious posts in that section. The online user count is slightly down because we cut back on twitter giveaways being so regularly.
irawk0 Posted November 5, 2018 #6 Posted November 5, 2018 Less activity due to marketplace phasing out means all the lost activity should be marketplace-oriented only. I reckon that's a good thing since it pretty much removes any possibility of scams. Reduced faucets also means less ppl in chat + forums since there is less incentive to be here. I do think new forum sections might liven up the place, such as a "youtube" section where you post new songs you find (hi hoffguy), "gaming" section, etc, but then again they could all be under the off-topic section. This lack of activity is making me go to PD's forum as well lol, maybe give that a try to occupy yourself 😛

I'm relatively new here, but I see what you're saying about the pointless topics. I also see redundant topics. I joined right as the marketplace was being taken out, so it had no effect on me.
Moderator Flan Posted November 5, 2018 Moderator #8 Posted November 5, 2018 Nope, phase outs on marketplace not destroying forum. My friend was saying that because lack of topics, and some patrols that makes you cant post a same post. They really dont want to create another topics, and maybe some of them already reply that threads, so they not doing some same responses.
