Are the effects of gambling always bad; can there be positive aspect?

People keep saying "the house wins in the end" that means that gambling is made with a negative outcome that is decided before you even start. 

Addictions, lifes going to the shits all of those are effects that gambling has. Mostly bad ones.

Do you think there are positive effects on the player when he starts gambling? Let me know!!

Personaly for me, it had. Dina was born in Stake, and it changed my life 😀 I closed my real life bussines and working only online now, along with this, I have more time for my kids. But it's an exception I think... Btw, I never profited from playing, I'm looooser 😅

Do you work online, related to gambling or is that a coincidence that youre "born" on stake and work online as well?

Hm, I could tell, like 70-80% of my earnings is gambling related

the only positive in gambling is that if you play and win, most of the time people are being greedy though they already won some, but they want to win more, and they are ended busted.. i think dina has an awesome strategy..although she is a looser in stake game, she still has a 80% profit in related fields (gambling) how is that @lupandinacan you teach us here?😄

There is a good things and bad things in gambling. The good is if we win we can earn some money. But the negative thing is you never grateful with what u got.

Well, there are more on the negative one than the positive of gambling. The positive effect on gambling, you can get rich IF you win big on gambling

I use gambling as a form of entertainment. So I would rather bust $100 on slots and have a good time than bust $100 on booze and and other things that I don't enjoy.

I think the social aspect of it is a positive thing.   You meet cool people from all around the world.

Positive affects will generally be there for every single player when it is their first time playing on the site but after some time when they loose a lot then that's the time the negativity comes into the mind of the player and affects him mentally and emotionally.

I used to be like that, only for entertainment but once you lose so much money already on gambling, it will become not entertainment and not fun anymore.

For me personally I can say the one positive thing about gambling is that is brought Bigmann23 and I closer together .  We have shared so many memories and met so many new friends here. So yes there is positive to gambling for some of us.💙💖🤗

I think I've benefited from gambling in 2 aspects.

1. I've seen more of the good and bad side of human beings on here than I've ever done irl. That being said, I'm not associated with gangs/mafia etc but this site did provide opportunities to meet people even gangs would find disgusting. However there is also an upside, I've met some truly nice people that are wonderful to talk to. This does not leave as a deep impression as the other end of the spectrum, simply because I meet equally nice people irl as well. The only difference is the contrast between the good and the bad is huge and I'm thankful for that.

2. I've definitely gotten better at math. This is specifically regarding probabilities, calculations, multiplications without calculators (rough estimates that are semi-accurate). Who knows? maybe this will help me down the road at some jobs.

As to the monetary reward, I think I can safely say that the time I've put into this is worth far more than any profit I might generate. The only way to counter that is to be HR and bet big, however I don't think I'm ready to throw away thousands of dollars at a time 😛

The worst part is probably the way gambling and casino are intentionally designed with the objective to get you entertained and hooked which can sometimes end up out of your conscious control.

Positive aspects:

-Learning to be self aware during your most heated moments and being accountable to your emotions

-Having fun!

Negative aspects:

-Biggest waste of time ever!!

-The risk of chasing your losses

When you can attract thousands of people from outside your area to come and do business with you, some of the money they bring will be spent on local businesses around you. Also, you’ll spend the money you earn, thus contributing back to the economy.

Many casinos have created vast opportunities for their local communities through hiring of employees, contracting with local businesses, and drawing in large numbers of people who stay overnight at local hotels. So while most of those people may go home losers, they will have injected new wealth into the local communities.

For me if you treat gambling as a way to earn a living will lead to a negative outcome. The purpose of gambling is for entertainment and companies or bankers who finance gambling have put their money and effort in order for people to enjoy the challenges specially the prizes. It is only the players who will actually control themselves on how to handle their game. If you know how to handle, and control the way you bet according to your game win or lose you will feel the excitement and fun. But if you have treated gambling as a way to earn a living surely you don't want the word "loosing" and this will have a negative impact to a players life mentally and physically. Proper mindset for me is the keyword to begin with if you want a positive effect in gambling. Never gamble what you can not afford to lose. For me if my mind is set on this I will surely have a positive effect about gambling and will surely have fun and be entertained. But this is only my thought. Have a nice day or night to everyone.

This makes a lot of sense actually. I suppose it is good for job creation, but can also take advantage of the local community who could spend all their hard earned money there, and be worse off in the long run.

I think the one who taking gambling seriously are the bad effect from it, but if you can manage and even doing a business in here like @lupandina does, it would be different.  The key was not to be a extremely addicted to gambling. If you not, you are still good and easily to change your bad habit into a useful one.

Some lesson that you can't learn in any subject or usual life. You can learn in here, for example : "Not becoming a greedy man", or "Control your emotion". It was really different experience than usual life. Those was the easiest one to learn a life lesson by doing a gambling.
