badger Posted November 18, 2018 #1 Posted November 18, 2018 I dont enjoy griping. I really dont. But here we are... I was equally annoyed, shocked, and amazed when I tried to send a link to Amazon via pm to a friend, at Stake. It was a link for a non gaming site and I couldnt send it. I guessed it was so people couldnt send ref links and spam everyones inbox. So we should be thanking Stake for the invasive overseeing, maybe. But no. Since we can turn from 'friends only' on, this is just a bunch of bs so we cant send ref links to other sites to our friends. Id like to see the stats on how many users play at Stake because they got a link from a friend. I know no one is allowed to post ref links in chat, and I know, realistically, no site wants players pming other users away from their site. But it happens. Its an inconvenience to have to break up the ref links now, and tell whoever to put 3 'w's in front of weird letters i sent in 3 messages, no spaces, and a .com at the end. But what really chapped me was you cant do that with every link you want to send. And all of those links are not to other gaming sites... Stake is lucky players pms are not controlled on other sites the way they are at Stake. If I were vindictive, I simply wouldnt refer my friends to Stake. But Im not. Well, I could be, but Id rather invite people to where I like to play.
Paecga129 Posted November 18, 2018 #2 Posted November 18, 2018 I agree with you completely here badger. I recently got perm muted for asking someone to add me on social media. Now if I was a new player than I could understand but I have been here since a week after the place opened. I broke a rule and I do understand that there are consequences for that but so harsh. I never ever meant any harm. I was able to get my mute to 10 says but I still think that is excessive !!! Since I have been on mute, I have counted 11 different times I have seen someone in chat do the same exact thing and no mute. I am a goodncommunity member and am shocked by this as well as the fact a pm can’t be sent with a link ...
badger Posted November 18, 2018 Author #3 Posted November 18, 2018 I hadnt thought of that. But now that I have, last I checked, my friends dont send me malicious links. Not yet anyway, lol.
Kate Posted November 18, 2018 #4 Posted November 18, 2018 Well Crypto sites and gambling sites are one of the major sites which are targeted by a lot of hackers every single day. So if Stake didn't have this protection service then almost 20% of the players would fall into scams by hackers. Thanks to Stake's security this doesn't happen very often.
bmg Posted November 18, 2018 #5 Posted November 18, 2018 Badger is right and Stake needs to wake up and listen to what the players have to say .
williamshennie9 Posted November 18, 2018 #6 Posted November 18, 2018 Wait, so are you not allowed to send links via PM in Stake? I did not know this... Also, 3 hours ago, Paecga129 said: I recently got perm muted for asking someone to add me on social media. What happened, did you post a link via PM to someone? I am trying to understand this whole situation.
Paecga129 Posted November 18, 2018 #7 Posted November 18, 2018 No I told someone to add me on social media. Afterwards I read over the rules and I can clearly see this is not allowed but at the time I did not know this. I just feel my punishment is a bit harsh. I understand I broke the rules but I had no ill intentions. It was over chat.

Seems like an odd rule as that was going to be my suggestion to Badger to simply have them contact her via another method. I expected that Stake monitored our PMs, I didn't expect them to mute people for what was sent if the recipient was okay with it. Oh well, their site, their rules. Thanks @badger!
bmg Posted November 18, 2018 #9 Posted November 18, 2018 i still disagree with your punishment Paepae its complete bs. You have been a player here for a while now and theres no reason for someone thats has spent thousands of $'ers should be ban or muted for saying something in a chat room. We are all adults here and i have never seen u break the rules. in my opinion i feel that u should have just gotten a warning and called it a day .
Paecga129 Posted November 18, 2018 #10 Posted November 18, 2018 That is correct. I was able to talk them down to a ten day ban but originally I was told I was on a perm mute. 32 minutes ago, DarkBlood069 said: So if I have read this clear, you got perm muted from the Stake platform chat for something really petty if I am putting that correctly? I do feel you should open a case with support about this issue, you have been a good player in my books @Paecga129 from day 1. 🤗 Thank you very kindly for such nice words!!! I truly meant no harm. This particular person and I had many good conversations before about betting strategy and I didn’t know the rule. Which is not a good reason to break it but I guess there isn’t anything I can do about it. 1 hour ago, bmg said: i still disagree with your punishment Paepae its complete bs. imaginary Posted November 19, 2018 #11 Posted November 19, 2018 Just the other day at so and so, I received a PM from a player who I can see has been a member since that site had opened, offering me 0.001 BTC if I can join a supposedly “ Brand New Dice Site “ using their ref link. Of course, judging by their stats and how long they have been a member to the site I received their PM, & the fact I’m okay with free BTC, I’m like SURE ! minutes later, I receive the link, but I noticed it doesn’t look anything like a referral link or a btc gambling site name, but of a URL shortener, such as hackers would want to use to collect your IP and other info. I go and google the site before I decided to even click it the site allows you to view up addresses and other info of the people you send the shortened URL to, which I was not comfortable with, knowing that would be the easiest way to for anyone to find a way to hack your accounts and rob you. Then I wrote “lol, You skem” they just wrote “lol” and was muted immediately. But I think this is one example of the clever ways scammers and hackers can have at you. I take comfort in the fact Stake does these things for their players, despite the annoying things that come with such security features. A small price to be paid, just to be on a safer side.
Moderator Flan Posted November 19, 2018 Moderator #12 Posted November 19, 2018 So many site offers me to join their site, and many links was given to me back then. Because it is Internet, even the link was a legit one. Stake has responsibility to guard users from malicious links. They are going to be extra careful about that, even provide a social media link that can leads into a scammer, or even worse (hackers, virus, malware) Well, I believe this is for security and privacy at this site. I would follow the rules and wouldn't do anything that breaks the rules, because Stake in my opinion already considering the right choice to protect users. If you want to remove that, It means we are Invulnerable about loss currency because of scam link or viruses, Stake wouldn't to refund that because that is your fault. This is just my opinion.I don't want some Stake player got some scam because removing this things.
blueprints Posted November 19, 2018 #13 Posted November 19, 2018 Well it is their site so we cant really expect that much and no site likes to support competition, besides atleast you can get around it.
