Kate Posted November 24, 2018 #1 Posted November 24, 2018 Transactions a basic term we all know since it's a main concept in the world of Crypto. A transaction can differ from so long to so short like maybe a transaction can take around 3-4 minutes or maybe sometimes 3-4 hours or maybe longer than that. In Bitcoin usually it takes around an hour in my opinion for the transaction to get confirmed ( i.e ; 6 confirmations in the network ) or sometimes for some people it might be longer regarding the number of miners that's there. For me the longest time a transaction of Bitcoin took for getting confirmed would be 4 hours yup. I had sent around 0.002 BTC from my wallet to that of LocalBitcoins so i could sell the BTC for in turn of Cash since i do trades from time to time over there. I have deposited before in LocalBitcoins like a bunch of times and usually the transaction was done within an hour or so but the time i deposited 0.002 BTC i kept on refreshing the page and it still didn't get confirmed and after i went for a walk outside it still didn't get confirmed and after checking like from 2 Hours it got confirmed and that was the longest transaction i ever experienced in my life. I don't know why this happened but maybe because the number of miners at that time had stopped or reduced ? I am not completely sure but i got the Bitcoin and it took a long time. I hope this never happens again tho. Have you ever experienced such a hectic time of Transaction wait ? If so how long did you wait ?
Etude Posted November 24, 2018 #2 Posted November 24, 2018 I think longest waits for a Bitcoin transaction to go through can take up to few days back during the clogged blockchain up to 300,000 unconfirmed transactions around near end of December 2017.

Aggreeing to this. ^^ The end of 2017 was the worst times if we're talking about transaction times... I know I sent one transaction not sure if depo or WD, which took like 12 hours...
davinmark Posted November 24, 2018 #4 Posted November 24, 2018 i think my longest waits for BTC transaction is about 30 mins. for the first time i thought i put a wrong address but when i checked its a correct address and thats the longest waits that i ever been through in BTC transaction
jualid Posted November 24, 2018 #5 Posted November 24, 2018 Back then when there was so many unconfirmed transaction on blockchain and the transaction fee cost around $5 per transaction. yikes.
williamshennie9 Posted November 27, 2018 #6 Posted November 27, 2018 It really depends on the fees that you are willing to pay. I usually choose the lowest fees from my wallet, and that can sometimes takes over 24 hours (The longest I've waited was about 28 hours), or even get rejected completely. Usually the higher the fees, the faster the transaction is and visa-versa. If you're in a rush, opt for high fees, if you have time, then opt for lower fees.
StoneDragon Posted November 27, 2018 #7 Posted November 27, 2018 Coinbase game me 3h wait time normali take 1.9...eur fee but this time did take 2.9. if any one wanna resurse there is way to speed up it antminer tool if im not wrong.
griffinreynolds Posted November 27, 2018 #8 Posted November 27, 2018 Well everytime you do transactions, there’s a bit fee and I take the smallest fee amounts in my transactions. The longest bitcoin transaction I’ve waited was 2 days, and about a month ago I had to wait about 6-7 hours for a low amount transaction with low fee amounts.
Noman3535n Posted November 27, 2018 #9 Posted November 27, 2018 Longest transaction i waited was 18 hours by blockchain
bobdole Posted November 27, 2018 #10 Posted November 27, 2018 I think the longest ive waited is two hours, a lot less than others lol but I didn't get into bitcoin until late. You didn't ask but the quickest I've gotten one confirmaton on a stake deposit was around 10 seconds.
miya2599 Posted November 27, 2018 #11 Posted November 27, 2018 i nevwr gwt long transaction, my transaction always fast
badger Posted November 27, 2018 #12 Posted November 27, 2018 Im pretty sure the longest wait Ive had... Theres been a few. Do you mean waiting on the blockchain for sure? Or casinos trying to hang on to your btc for as long as possible, hoping you will recall your transaction and lose your wd back to them? Everyone Ive known for awhile has had the depos that take until they wake up the next morning. Lol, hate those ones...

Oh god wow. I guess the miners had some technical difficulties or the mining programs weren't performing as well or they shutdown ? 300,000 Transactions is a lot and to see all them unconfirmed at the same time.
KinAniK Posted November 27, 2018 #19 Posted November 27, 2018 my longest transaction wait was almost 13 hours
WolfHunter Posted November 27, 2018 #20 Posted November 27, 2018 The longest I ever had to wait was 54 hours...& the shortest was like 10 seconds
Moderator Flan Posted November 27, 2018 Moderator #21 Posted November 27, 2018 I got my longest transaction for 62 hours last week ago. I use the lowest fee too. Maybe it was the time bitcoin was traded so many times last week. It was the peak month-year of the bitcoin, i wouldn't expect for a short transactions from that.
bmg Posted November 29, 2018 #22 Posted November 29, 2018 The longest time I have had to wait for a transaction was when there was a major plug in the blockchain and it took 10 days for my deposit to clear. It seemed like a life time of waiting.
lupandina Posted November 29, 2018 #23 Posted November 29, 2018 I think, my longest one was in December last year. Can't remember exact, but it was more than 24 hours for sure After reading some other comments, seems, it wasn't that bad?
Ricaard Posted November 29, 2018 #24 Posted November 29, 2018 My longest transactions was on thursday deposit it toke like 4-5 hours to get my money for sure
Paecga129 Posted November 29, 2018 #25 Posted November 29, 2018 I had to wait like 30 hours for like 10 mbtc once. Wow was that ever annoying. I was gettin so mad. This was probably over a year ago.
