griffinreynolds Posted November 25, 2018 #1 Posted November 25, 2018 Hello everyone, griffinreynolds here! I see everyone has tried to tip someone whilst muted.. Wouldn’t it be better if you can tip someone whilst you are muted? I wanted to tip someone today whilst muted for 1 hour and I think tipping and chatting it’s not the same there are many options that when you are muted you can’t do them. Muted for something is all about the main chat or loans or someone reported you to mods that’s all. It should be allowed to tip someone whilst muted because sometimes there are friends that you know IRL and you want to give them some money, or do /rain when you got big profit. Wouldn’t it be better? What do you guys think about this? Thanks for the time you spent in this post and feel free to ask or give your opinion about these things.
griffinreynolds Posted November 25, 2018 Author #2 Posted November 25, 2018 Just now, blurrijs said: Yes.. i've had times where I got muted without even knowing and i wanted to tip my friends and it just tells me that you are not allowed to do this and i think that it's a bug or something has happened lol. They need to add this and also add a popup that tells you that you have been muted and the mute time, because the person couldn't know if they aren't looking at the chat Yeah Tipping someone and Chatting wit someone isn’t the same and they have nothing in common. So it should be allowed to tip someone whilst muted, I don’t know if there is any rule or something that Stake doesn’t want to allow this but I posted it.

Maybe Stake can add an option about passive/beggars when a mod mutes someone for begging he can use that option to stop that person to not use/tip until he’s unmuted, this is a solution if the answer is that. Anyway thanks for your opinions.
williamshennie9 Posted November 25, 2018 #4 Posted November 25, 2018 I've never been muted, and had the desire to tip someone at the same time. I don't see why it is not allowed, perhaps support will chip in and explain it to us. Perhaps it could be because they do not want your name to feature in the Stake chat if you tip publicly, but I could be wrong.
bmg Posted November 25, 2018 #5 Posted November 25, 2018 I had the same thing happen to me last week i was muted and i couldn't tip. Its one thing to be muted and not be allowed in chat but to not allow me to do as i wish with my own money is way out. This was never an issue before I'm not sure why its something that was added but i think its complete bs.

Not that I'd be against them doing that
Etude Posted November 25, 2018 #7 Posted November 25, 2018 Oh yes I believe this helps to prevent mass uncontrol-able spams of minimum tip limit that has happened a few times in the past.
Snike Posted November 25, 2018 #8 Posted November 25, 2018 In my bad times when I got muted for 5+ hrs a day I was super upset that you couldnt tip while muted -.- Meanwhile I get the point of this. It's just to avoid tip spam and unneeded noise!
Paecga129 Posted November 25, 2018 #9 Posted November 25, 2018 Ya when I got muted I was bummed I couldn’t send tips to pay back some loans I had. So I earned way more interest in them.
joszko57 Posted November 25, 2018 #10 Posted November 25, 2018 i know it would be hard to implement, but maybe only allow ghost tipping whilst muted? so you cant see who it was in chat?

Yeah it happened to me too, hope developers make something about this and let us tip whilst muted or make rains. 29 minutes ago, Snike said: In my bad times when I got muted for 5+ hrs a day I was super upset that you couldnt tip while muted -.- Meanwhile I get the point of this. Nahh I don’t think it’s to avoid spam and unneeded noise, maybe they’ve done this for the beggars/passives which tip to high rollers to impress them like our friend said before.

This is an awesome idea. Basically you tip privately griffin, so it doesn't show up/spam the chat. However it still doesn't solve the problem of minimum tip spamming HR which is why everyone above thinks tipping while muted should stay blocked. If you really want to though, there are two options of going about this. One, have an alt with some stored money on there (you aren't allowed to chat on alt while main is muted but I think you are still allowed to tip on alt, just please be private). Or two, withdraw money, and redeposit, and tip on alt. Mute is basically a punishment though, I highly doubt someone muted would want to tip. Mutes basically fall into these categories: begging, spamming, caps, flaming, sending/asking for private info. Almost all of these reasons come from beggars/passives/scammers, so the chances of them actually tipping and being nice is next to zero. If you DID get muted because of one accidental rule-breaking, just wait for the duration and then tip, not hard to wait a few hours.

Hmm I don’t think it could be a solution, maybe there whilst muted can be a maximum tip so when you get muted you can tip then only 2 times or 3-4 times + the tips are private and then when you use those opportunities you can’t tip someone until you get unmuted, I think this idea is better.
Guest Posted November 25, 2018 #14 Posted November 25, 2018 If someone broke a chat rule, and we removed him from chat for a certain amount of time for a reason, he/she won't be able to send tips, and that's something that should remain like that, everyone has to deal with the consequences. There was one period of time when muted users could send tips, and unfortunately we had to deal with some people that would intentionally spam the chat with tips (*looks at @HumberRolls*) in order to protest in a way. In order to be able to tip, you have to use chat, there is no other way. So... Make sure you're not doing anything wrong, and there are no issues like these.
Dan Posted November 26, 2018 #15 Posted November 26, 2018 If you can tip while muted, you will create an alt and tip your balance to it and therefore the mute was pointless.
Paecga129 Posted November 26, 2018 #16 Posted November 26, 2018 I see what you guys are saying !! It makes sense!!
kayke94 Posted November 26, 2018 #17 Posted November 26, 2018 dyep i agree to you to, talking has nothing to do with sending tips
CaptainLorca Posted November 26, 2018 #18 Posted November 26, 2018 To make it even more clear: If you violate the rules, you have to deal with actual consequences. Trying to Bypass the mute with an alt you just tip is way to tempting. But still you broke the rules (yes. Even if you’re online with an alt. If you broke the rules with your main, it applies to every account someone has). Which also means: bypassing it is again violating the rules - even worse. Everyone here around is an adult and should have common sense. Read the rules, follow them. Break them, get the penalty. Lets compare that to a the law: You break a law that gets you into jail. You can’t do any cool stuff any longer once you‘re in it. Similar to not being able to tip anymore. if you now break free from this prison (Creating and alt account and trying to tip this account your funds) will only result in getting more penalties or in court language: Extension of the prison sentence. I don’t know why people are worried that they can’t tip. Just follow the rules and you got nothing to worry for. It’s like the law: They have a tough time touching you, if you never break a law.
Kate Posted November 26, 2018 #19 Posted November 26, 2018 Well when you get muted it's because you went beyond the limits and broke a rule like maybe begging in chat and its really annoying when you cant tip a person who you owe money because you by mistakely said something that muted you. I guess making it allowable for tipping people whne muted would be a good extra feature.
griffinreynolds Posted November 26, 2018 Author #20 Posted November 26, 2018 Thanks for replying everyone to my topic and giving your opinions, ideas and other things at first. But I think as I said before on my post muted because of chat rules and tipping someone it’s not the same that’s what I’m saying, Ok sometimes people abuse it if it’s allowed to tip whilst muted but as I said before about this you can make a tip limit whilst muted for example only 2 times you can tip whilst muted or only one. If the person is muted permanently or something like that I think there shouldn’t be allowed to tip but for 1hr, 2hrs or upto 24hrs mute I think there should be a tip limit, I think it’s a good idea.
EddieFx Posted November 26, 2018 #21 Posted November 26, 2018 You should be able to tip but still you are muted for some reason and you should be punished for it, just behave and it will be okay!
