Gambling in Japan

Hey everyone :)

So in my spare time I do research about various countries that I can take my family on holiday to  And having a casino there is always a bonus. I stumbled across gambling in Japan, and I was shocked to discover that gambling is actually illegal there.

To combat this, they take advantage of a "loophole" called pachinko, which is similar to plinko, which is allowed by law. This is how people in Japan gamble:

Let me know what you think! Would you like to try this type of gambling? I'd love to hear :)

Pachinko sure looks like a very fun and addictive game. It seems like they would exchange those little metal balls that they won from the gaming for prizes (plushies, pen, stuffs. ) then followed by exchanging the prizes for cash. I think for a lot of Japanese no matter young or old, Pachinko has already became a kind of lifestyle for them by now.

is more like pinball arcade..instead the highest score is the amount you win.. best part the machine is out in the open ..as long it spews out balls instead of coins..

#PachinkoOnStake

This looks fun and more like arcade games, less than gambling!

I agree with @Snike's hashtag to possibly consider bringing Pachinko to Stake. It is a solid suggestion to add a refreshing game to Stake's already slightly worn but excellent collection of games for sure!  :D

Guys check the famous movie 'The Tale of Zatoichi' (a good one by the way) and you find out the Dice was quite a usual game in older times in Japan.

Ah I don’t need to go that kind of gambling because I have #Stakecasino 🌝. No need to go there. Coffee + Mobile/Laptop/Tablet + Internet + bed is perfect for me 😁

It is most certain very similar to Plinko but at the same time different since Panchiko to some extent has elements of another popular arcade game of Pinball and it often incorporates popular trending cultures into its design (board appearance/theme) too. :p

In Japan, I think on their video games was a gambling after all. I mean, to get the super rare character. They will do some gacha (capsule toy). They implement gambling on video games by using the concept of gachapon. (a machine that randomly prize you with capsule). And that pachinko, it is really similar to plinko in here. Or it could be same, only the pronounced different?

Wow never knew that's what Plinko is based on. I've seen that only in the third Fast and Furious movie (Tokyo drift) where Shawn goes to Han's party. I'm wondering if it's easier or harder to hit high multipliers on those games than on here? :o Maybe shake the machine a little bit lmao

Anyone from Japan here who can tell us what it is really like playing that game? How different is it from Plinko?

Yeah, this is how the loophole works in Japan. If they gave cash directly for the balls, it would be considered gambling, which is illegal, so to bypass this, you buy products with the balls, and then sell the products back to the "casino". Sneaky!

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to give links to other websites on this thread, but try searching on Google for "play pachinko free online". It is kind of like plinko, but the whole setup is different, there are "holes" scattered throughout the games (for the balls to land in, not just at the bottom like on plinko), and some holes trigger a slot machine to spin. There are tons of variations out there.

The interesting thing is, users can control the direction of the balls by using a wheel-type thing (on the physical machines), but it is not of much use, because there are 100+ balls, so changing the direction of one ball could negatively affect the other 99 balls lol, so it is pure luck/gambling at the end of the day :)

Well i guess then the Plinko game from Stake won't be illegal over there ? Many things are banned in Japan but people use VPN to get past the block i had a friend who studied there and returned due to the bad food ( He didn't like the taste at all ) and he told me that many sites are blocked over there and people also secretly gamble in streets and even in the college he was studying it seems .

Bad food? No way sushi is awesome! 😂🍣

Gaming in general not just gambling gaming is really a culture in itself in Japan for sure.
