It appears the file sizes of the uploaded images are larger than the source. Sometimes much larger.

Is this a Bug, Question, Issue, or Complaint? If not, then please don't post these things here. I don't see a problem if the uploaded image is larger than the original one uploaded.

This happens when you are trying to resize the image or by default its resized in the forum but this can't be that much of an issue since it differs by small Kbps.

Yes, to the later two, the former is for them to judge. This should be the right section. If you don't think this is the right place, where else would you say I should have posted this?

For my recent ones, in the seasonal challenge thread, they went from 22KB to 1400KB. So it's the resizing doing it, you say?

How does resizing of a picture increases the file size from 22kb to 1400kb? It on it does not seem to make much sense to me hearing it at first.

Resizing might be inaccurate way to call it, but after the conversion/decompression, the images in PNG format appear to be set at 4 bytes per pixel.

So, I tried uploading them in JPG instead to check for differences. While the images are still heavier the difference wasn't as drastic, the same image went from 48KB to 80KB in this case.

Yeah, felt the images were rather heavy for what they are in those challenge posts. Reason I brought it up.
