testB Posted December 1, 2018 #1 Posted December 1, 2018 It appears the file sizes of the uploaded images are larger than the source. Sometimes much larger.
williamshennie9 Posted December 1, 2018 #2 Posted December 1, 2018 Is this a Bug, Question, Issue, or Complaint? If not, then please don't post these things here. I don't see a problem if the uploaded image is larger than the original one uploaded.
Kate Posted December 1, 2018 #3 Posted December 1, 2018 This happens when you are trying to resize the image or by default its resized in the forum but this can't be that much of an issue since it differs by small Kbps.

If you don't think this is the right place, where else would you say I should have posted this? 2 hours ago, Kate said: This happens when you are trying to resize the image or by default its resized in the forum but this can't be that much of an issue since it differs by small Kbps. For my recent ones, in the seasonal challenge thread, they went from 22KB to 1400KB. So it's the resizing doing it, you say?
Etude Posted December 1, 2018 #5 Posted December 1, 2018 How does resizing of a picture increases the file size from 22kb to 1400kb? It on it does not seem to make much sense to me hearing it at first.
testB Posted December 1, 2018 Author #6 Posted December 1, 2018 Resizing might be inaccurate way to call it, but after the conversion/decompression, the images in PNG format appear to be set at 4 bytes per pixel. So, I tried uploading them in JPG instead to check for differences. While the images are still heavier the difference wasn't as drastic, the same image went from 48KB to 80KB in this case. 29 minutes ago, Etude said: How does resizing of a picture increases the file size from 22kb to 1400kb?
