Ever wonder why bitcoin isn’t advertised?

Hey everyone We all using  crypto currency like bitcoin has a ton of benefits that the majority of the population aren't aware of because of its seemingly “hard to understand “technological  nature  which makes it seems much more complicated than it is.
Huge benefits are the obvious, You get to have control over your funds, transactions are cheap, and no one can know how much money you have (financial privacy), plus probably the most attractive feature is anonymity etc. Most people would understand these things.
So my question is, Why isn't this being promoted? Why is there no crypto lobby?

It has become such huge part of the financial world as in, Market trading , investing, spending , it is a known currency , that holds a value, but it doesn’t advertise? We have all seen the annoying bank adverts on tv for the latest currrent account with internet saver and credit card included , they lure people in with flashy advertising, yet it’s really all a money making skeem from there the top , you pay interest on credit cards and loans , you somtimes pay a monthly fee for keeping you well earned money in there bank ,So why is it that a majorly improved system of holding and moving money around like bitcoin and the blockchain is not on every tv channel between your favourite episodes or splashed up on billboards , or the side of buses , ?

it baffles me, it’s a legally used currency yet only a third of the population know about. It or have used it. Wouldn’t sharing the knowledge of what we know , via advertising attract more investors ,and users.?
Decentralization won't happen if people aren't aware.

Anyway I like reading your thoughts , so add on the end what you think ❤️

One word describes the reason: decentralization. Governments, banks, pretty much anyone looking to take money from you doesn't want to hear that word. It means there is no "boss" at the very top of the pyramid doing nothing and skimming a % off everyone's earnings.

IMO, crypto is sort of like communism, but NOT the communism we have now. I'm talking about the IDEAL version described by Marx etc. Of course no one wants that lol.

But to quote from a movie: "People shouldn't be afraid of their governments, governments should be afraid of their people" I'm just hoping everyone will fight back against the current system we have now :)

I think there has been some advertisments of Bitcoin during the much acclaimed SuperBowl a while back not too long ago by a investment firm . It is still a rare thing as of today but seems to be the first of many, though it did not directly promote Bitcoin but mentions that it is an option offered in their investment/options Portfolio.

Yes, all of that is true, but one that has not yet been received, bitcoin can threaten the existence of each country's currency. The state cannot control the pace of the economy and the velocity of money in society, they fear that conditions can be chaotic.

Little by little I have seen bitcoin adds popping up.  Yeah you would think that there would be more to advertise and promote bitcoin.

If I recall correctly, Bitcoin was never advertised as a store of value. I recall seeing countless ads about mining, and why we should all invest in bitcoin mining etc. They were advertising a system to mine bitcoins, not bitcoin itself.

It was Advertised by London one time 😄

Quote

The BBC contacted ten businesses in London that once advertised accepting Bitcoin. Four no longer accepted it, and two that did said they hardly ever received payments in Bitcoin. The same is even true online. The Wall Street Journal, citing a report by Morgan Stanley, recently reported that Bitcoin is now accepted by just three of the top 500 global online merchants, down from five last year.

If growing adoption as a currency can’t justify Bitcoin’s rapid appreciation, what can? Many enthusiasts have started to promote the idea of Bitcoin as a store of value. In economics, this is usually defined along the lines of “an item that people can use to transfer purchasing power from the present to the future”. In simple terms, it’s somewhere safe to invest your wealth that won’t lose its worth over time.

I had an interesting read from amongst the posts shared.

Strangely enough, the fact that BTC is not being advertised has never really crossed my mind (how shallow). However, this thread has picqued my interest towards this phenomenon. With so little knowledge on this subject... I definitely need to conduct some research before I will be able to make something of this.

Random thoughts: I wonder if there’s any legality involved, if so this would probably variate between different countries and that’s a messy bowl that I’d rather not touch!

i guess the question really is to ask, who gains from the advertisment? cause it costs money to put adds up. and if no one gains from it who will d o it.
