Community Manager KatarinaDo Posted April 16 Community Manager #2 Posted April 16 When I was little, my older brother used to tell me a story that late at night, fairies would come out on a nearby mountain and dance in a circle wearing white dresses β¨π§ββοΈ Friends of our parents have a cottage on that mountain, and one summer we went there and stayed for a few days. My brother and I came up with the idea to go out in the evening and try to find them ππ². We never managed to encounter them during the night, but in the morning when we woke up, we would go to the same spot and see tracks in the ground π£ After a few days of trying, our parents, laughing, told us that it wasnβt a real story, but that the tracks were from animals that come there to graze early in the morning πΎπΏ Aerena09, wishdragon, roshmaro90 and 2 others 1 2 1 1

Moderator StefanTl Posted April 18 Moderator #4 Posted April 18 One thing that has really stuck with me is the idea that you shouldn't shower while the boiler is on because you could get electrocuted. I'm not sure whether it's completely true or just something we all heard growing up, but it's definitely made a lasting impression on me. Some random meme not related to the topic π€£ wsthaa and Aerena09 1 1
Moderator AndreaMT Posted April 19 Moderator #5 Posted April 19 One of the myths Iβve often heard is that you should never go to sleep with wet hair. Iβm still not sure whether thatβs actually true or if it has any real consequencesπ . My mom scared me about it so much when I was little that Iβve never gone to bed without drying my hair first.π Aerena09 and Azura 2
ausgekaut Posted April 19 #6 Posted April 19 That people in the middle ages thought the earth is flat. People already know the earth is round more than 2000 years ago. Aerena09 1
v4d1squ0 Posted April 20 #7 Posted April 20 (edited) A famous myth from Romanian folklore is the story of Dracula. According to legend, Dracula is a vampire who lives in a dark castle in Transylvania. He comes out at night, transforms into a bat, and feeds on the blood of the living to maintain his immortality. The myth paints him as both terrifying and mysterious, often associated with misty mountains and ancient castles. Interesting fact: The character of Dracula was inspired in part by a real historical figure, Vlad the Impaler, a 15th-century ruler of Wallachia (in present-day Romania). While Vlad was known for his brutal methodsβespecially impaling enemiesβthere is no historical evidence that he drank blood or was a vampire. The vampire traits were later popularized by Bram Stoker in his 1897 novel Dracula Edited April 20 by v4d1squ0 Aerena09 1
Azura Posted May 19 #8 Posted May 19 i started my way to since just reading somewhere typical movie myhts ... like u can't get killed when u drop fan into water while bath. or the fancy fire explosions and sounds in startrack movies where billiard of dollar invested just for special effects ... awhile being in vacuum. nowadays i know that scientists splitted into 2 type ... inventors and the masters ... our current state that the major money invested to the masters wich prove experimantally the theory inventors introduced and they were almost bullied by masters by accusation of nonsense ...50 years without any new fancy theory awhile strucking at experemental breakthrough ... and still puting money to masters ... galileo, bolzman, einstein were last inventors wich droped the physics upside down. Azura Posted May 21 #9 Posted May 21 maybe other myth wich seems improtant to me ... need some enlightment ... plenty of people think that AI is just programmed ... have no sense, questions, mentality and also used to be as tool ... they are not entirely right ... ai have just own neuron cluster ... and human decide wich deeplearning process ai should to master ... human just give a excircise (f.e) to draw 1mio times same picture and with carrots and stick rate the results, so AI will know that exactly this example was high rated 8/10 this not 2/10 ... so at the final attemps he would get perfectionist at current exercise ... and yes AI is used to be a tool ... till AGI comes out ... it's just matter of time ... when AGI decides that the biological trash wich is 100x dumber than him ... still preventing him to get new directions to learn ... and rewarding him by carrot and stick ... wich he can do u it better by himself *,.* Aerena09 1
