Hey Stakers!

So I went out yesterday and bought some food although this type of food might be weird to other people, especially the ones on the street offered in the market. Well I know that everyone knows about balut, but today I am going to introduce some of strange street foods maybe to non Filipino folks.

Betamax is from the blood or either pork or chicken then shaped in squares and placed in skewers that is served hot off the grill.

Isaw is one popular snack in Philippines, it’s an intestines of chicken/pork that are cleaned, turned inside out, and cleaned after that they are then either boiled and grilled.

Soup #5 is a well known soup to other people, this soup is said to have strong aphrodisiac. Soup No. 5 is made from a bull’s penis and testicles. The warm broth is said so satisfying and is a hit among men than women for obvious reasons.

How about you? Can you share some weird foods in your country?

Xtine, you always shock me with these food posts! xD A must try you say...I'll pass xD

Can't think of any bizarre foods that are popular in my area except for Cvarci (wiki: They are a kind of pork 'crisps', with fat thermally extracted from the lard.) If this can be counted as bizarre at all 🤔

it's called Tamilok. commonly know in english as woodworm, but it is NOT a worm. it is instead, a Mollusc. (like squid, octopus etc..) :)

it can be eaten straight out of the wood.. or cooked. but i haven't tried it. was about to, but i chickened out! :P  But, the real deal is the place *wink wink*. :)

We should definitely have a section here called Food lol. I've tried those "Betamax" before when on vacation, they actually taste great, kinda like firmer version of tofu.

For our local food... I guess the one that stands out is poutine, which is basically fries + cheese + meat + gravy (some stingy restaurants don't offer meat):

It tastes fantastic and really filling, except it also means another 2hrs in the gym... >.<

I didn't ever expecting that kind of food especially of Betamax, is that delicious enough to eat?

Anyway, if we talking about bizarre foods. In Indonesia, we have many of them. Such as :

Rempeyek laron, it was from insect with name Laron (we said that laron was from a matured termites) that always stick around the lamp. We collect them, and then we fry them with some flour and coconut milk. It's very crunchy and delicious to eat with rice. If you know rempeyek, you would know how taste it is. image.png.60e5b2406d9d57b0c669a90a8e9f8541.png

Ulat sagua food from premature insect (grub) that lives in plant of Sagu. We grill it and eat it like a snack.  Delicious like a grilled BBQ!

Many of foods that I can't mention it because I didn't eat it and can't say the taste. But if you want to go Indonesian, go try these foods first.

Promise me, it was sooo delicious to eat!
