Races - not so private

If a player decides they rather be hidden, and  not partake in the contest, so their name doesnt show up on the "Races" leader board is this possible?
Feels like the leaderboard page privacy issue all over again, but presented in another form..
i figure there has got to be at least a couple players in the mix that dont want their username to be shown in the list (anywhere on the list tbh)
and yes i know that most people only see the top 6 or top 5.
but anyways. I figure id should ask... am  i the only one who feels potential privacy issue at stake? (haha get it ? its a pun i think)

well, you can't see their bets, just their wager.. if they were to win the race, and their name would be revealed anyway.

so why does a  "hide total wager" amount even exist then?
do you think that is not really really a good feature for privacy to have even.?

I think my browser started running really heavy when they added whatever new code to the site. .
total wager is different from the amount wagered during the race, is it not?

This is because this is a special event where the prize for wagering alot is above privacy concern. Also to prevent potential alternate account abuse possibly. :P

the part about alt account abuse thing i dont think is the reason.
as mods see "hidden" HR rolls and hidden doesnt exist for them in a sense cause they see all. so it would not make sense your part about the prevent abuse ..
aah i see you said ... "possibly".... justy now

We haven't had anyone complain about this issue yet. We do however have plans to include an opt out function for future races.

I think the case in point currently since the whole "Races" event is actually something of a Christmas'ish  to New Years promotional event it would only make sense for the top players and names to be shown to increase authenticity of the player actually exists than just a simple "Hidden", can you imagine a promotional event where all top 20 players are "Hidden". :D  Yes a opt-out option would be a good thing to be added, but I believe it means to forgo participation as a whole instead of just identity? These decisions are frankly up to the developers and Stake itself. This is just two cents of my thoughts of this discussion. ;)

I like the whole transparent thing, but I do agree you cant OPT-out of it if you want to.

I can only hope those high wagering fellas dont get annoyed too much by beggars and that they have set some privacy settings set.
