Moderator luizoruivo Posted December 15, 2018 Moderator #1 Posted December 15, 2018 I remember when I was 10 to 12 years old I would go out with colleagues playing chess championships around the area where I lived. In some places we spent several days away from our home and our parents. Often our teacher left us alone, and our parents would send us money to spend on food. Then one of the players had an idea, decide who would pay a pizza for the team with a game of cards (at that time we would play UNO). This suggestion was very successful, we met whenever we could in the lodgings to play cards. But over time it was joining people from other teams as well, we had a nice group of friends who got together to bet on pizzas. It was not long before we learned to play poker, there was a kid who even bought chips for us to play. The rule was simple, everyone started with the same amount of chips, and the first 3 to bust should share the value of dinner (pizza and soft drinks). It was an innocent game, nobody was ever harmed and the losers ate together with the gang. It is this kind of recreational activity that I imagine to be "gambling". I don't know why I imagine @CaptainLorca getting really upset for being one of the members who should pay the pizza. Just like in our cassino some guys lose more than others, It was funny to see someone lose twice in a row., not so much when it was me, but it was still fun.
