Gambling for Fun or Gambling for Money?

Hello Gamblers.

If you’re reading this you already know that you’re a Gambler. But do you know with what intention you really play? Gambling for Fun or to make Money? Let’s Discuss.

In reality gambling is considered a Entertainment and many people, mainly in western countries go to casinos or slot machines and play. Some people spend several hundred thousand or even million within a single night in casinos. Of course some of them come with refreshment and some other entertainments too. But most of them just walk away after sacrificing their money without a second though in their head. They do not think about what they lost in the casino. That is clearly Entertainment.

But what about Gamblers in Stake?

But looking at Stake chat you could identify many players are actually come here to make some money and not for Entertainment. Why? When someone losses or busted while playing they come to chat and say that they have lost xxx amount of money in Satoshi or $$$. Sometimes they worth just pennies and still they worry for that. This can frequently be observed through chat. But still they are some high rollers that they don't care about what they lost. They just say that they lost SSS money and next deposit is on their way.

So what are you? Do you play in Stake for Money or Entertainment (Mainly)?

Well, at first I was gambling for money. It ended up in even bigger debt, then I had before it

Then I stopped and didn't play at all. But as wasn't able to leave stake community... Started betting again This time for fun, from funds I can afford to lose. It was fun

After my life became overwhelmed, I was too busy to have free time for gambling, even if just for fun. So, not played at all again for some time. 

Now it's kinda bit of both. I'm playing only for challenges So it's a bit for money (challenges prizes), and a bit for fun (it's chance to play all games, just a bit, till goal will be reached).

Why isnt there a choice for both? I mean, its fun to play but at the same time, hoping to win some money. So why can we choose both?

I gamble for fun, but if there was no money included I wouldnt gamble. So I'm taking both

Good to hear it @lupandina. I hope your doing good with challenges. i too play almost all the challenges. But I also continue to play with the strategies I develop. BTW, Thanks for your site

Hunting challenges for me is even more fun then gamble just so. There's some goal I must reach (it's kinda nice limiting thing actually. Challenge completed - go away :D) , and I'm never ending busting

Greetings to you. Gambling is nice if you are enjoying it. But if it gives you disappointment and stress well better to pause for awhile. Never treat gambling as a way of earning a living, because the truth is only few have the special skills and talent in winning big profit. Not everyone can, even myself  consider that I am always depending on my luck. Only my strategy is luck. Nice to play or gamble if I only put a limit to what I can afford to lose. But the best thing about gambling is the entertainment it brings to me. I can be relieve from the whole days work and luckily there is this stake.com an online gaming where you can play online. you don't have to go to casino to dressed up decently. You can play even naked at your home that is if there are no other people around hahaha. So never put all you effort and saved income to gambling, always gamble according to what you can afford to lose and I will surely guarantee you that you will enjoy every second you have played. Gambling can very well maybe a way to earn a living since there are winners of course there are also losers and that is why I would never rely on gambling ever means to an end

I agree that Gambling should not be a means of earning a living if you do not even have enough money for food. Yes it is definitely a form of entertainment especially for those who actually have extra money to spare or wealthy.

I see so many players here with the expectation to make profit everyday as if it were a source of income, and when they lose they get pretty upset.  Gambling is meant to be a fun source of entertainment, win or lose.  Sure some get lucky & make a nice profit but it doesn't happen all the time & it's not something you should count on happening.  When it comes to gambling there is no skill involved only luck & luck isn't always a sure thing so if you're gambling for the soul purpose of making money & not for the Entertainment value, you should probably reconsider your options.

Gambling is an activity which is extremely difficult to make consistent profits. You are playing against a guaranteed house edge, which puts you at a major long term disadvantage. I guess you can beat the house in the short term, but over the long term, it is extremely difficult to do.

Most times I playing for fun, but if I have some money I stop playing just for fun and starting playing for money. So for me is "For fun ------(getting some money)-------> for money 😄 

I don't believe that there are people, who play with a lot of money just for fun. I mean, I think anyone is aimed to get profit 😄 

btw Stake is a nice place for spending time so There's nothing strange, that a lot of playing here just for fun!

If you are gambling because you need money, especially on Stake, you are doing it wrong STOP NOW, your financial situation will just get worse not better.

There may be some gambling situations like counting cards at real life Blackjack, playing poker, betting on horses, or sports betting where you can come out ahead through better skill or work but none of those are on Stake yet.  So if you are here looking for income, STOP.

Now that is not to say you can't make money at Stake, look at @lupandina she went from player with more debt to Stake Entrepreneur selling ancillary services.  But that is not gambling.

There are also rain farmers, forum award abusers and scammers, they can make money here as well, but then you're a scumbag.

So play for fun!  If you win, it's more fun!  If it stops being fun, stop!

thank you for all your positive response, but indeed, gambling should be treated as a way of entertainment. One day you've got a nice profit but 364 days you might not. Few are really very lucky in getting huge profit. Win some, loose some and  have some fun.
