Shaniqua Posted December 31, 2018 #1 Posted December 31, 2018 The first time i went to vegas and saw a roulette table... i saw it say the minimum bet was $4, so i went and got some chips from the person at the table the wheel spinner person.. then i put 4 dollars on red and i won... But what happened next was the dealer person running t he wheel got mad at me saying the minimum bet was $20, i was confused and replied back but it says $4 i then found out that it seems in vegas there are things called inside bet and outside bet... and the minimum inside bet was 4 dollars and the minimum outside bet was $20 i then like a noob said oh ok.... got my money off the table and left lol... felt awkward not knowing these things...
irawk0 Posted December 31, 2018 #2 Posted December 31, 2018 That's the most pathetic casino I've ever heard of. A Las Vegas casino stingy over a $4 payout? Just how low can they get? Also no mention beforehand of the inside/outside distinctions makes the casino look just incompetent. I'd honestly leave and never come back, probably write a scathing review online as well. Just a tip: when I get to a casino I don't bet right away, but rather watch people for like 10-20min until I feel like I got the basics before actually betting. It saves awkward situations like yours, especially when you notice the outcome of everyone who bets the minimum $4 and whether they were able to cash out or not.
williamshennie9 Posted December 31, 2018 #3 Posted December 31, 2018 The outside boxes for roulette have higher minimum bets than the numbers. Since the dealer did not notice you bet $4 on red, they should have paid you, since the dealer was wrong not to notice. I would have escalated the issue with management, but that's just my personality.
