Snike Posted January 2, 2019 #1 Posted January 2, 2019 So, recently I've been running into some trouble buying bitcoin with cash... I thought to myself Oh this is easy. I buy this gift card and just sell it for btc online. Easier said than done. Nobody buys giftcards for a good prize online. Tbh I dont know what I thought when I bought it. But anyways back to the topic. Imagine you're in my position. You have 50€ in cash and you want 50€ in bitcoin. What do you do? Now don't just say deposit it to your bank account and buy it at coinbase. I mean like what could I buy with cash that sells close to the equivalent amount in bitcoin? Giftcards didnt work for me (paysafe and itunes). What could I buy to trade for btc?
williamshennie9 Posted January 2, 2019 #2 Posted January 2, 2019 Your best bet is localbitcoins. That's where most people I know purchase their bitcoins. You can chat with people and arrange deals with them. Just check their reputation to ensure that they are trusted
btcxd Posted January 2, 2019 #3 Posted January 2, 2019 I am based in the Philippines and there once was an online prepaid bitcoin that can be purchased using your prepaid phone credits. I just dont know why it was removed.
EddieFx Posted January 2, 2019 #4 Posted January 2, 2019 Im from sweden and a guy here is selling his bitcoin for cash so I usually buy from him, I found him on localbitcoins! Check if you can find someone in your country there
KiXxnTRiXx Posted January 6, 2019 #5 Posted January 6, 2019 I would buy a paysafecard which is used just like cash to buy online. unless you want to go to a trading site where you can set up a trade where you will meet the person and pay cash.. given they live in the same vacinity as you do.
Kate Posted January 6, 2019 #6 Posted January 6, 2019 You could trade it on localbitcoins by selecting the category of a giftcard. But be ware of scammers just be sure you don't send the whole code at first and just the half of it or something. Good luck

Like which gift card or which payment option in general?
bmg Posted January 10, 2019 #9 Posted January 10, 2019 Lucky for a few countries around the world is that bitcoin atms are popping up luke hotcakes. They just added 3 new ones in the city where I live and we are expecting many more. There are up and downs to the btc atms though. They dont put them in stores that are open late at night so 9pm is the latest we can buy bitcoin and they usually sell bitcoin $1,000 over market price. The cool part is that you can just put cash in the machine scan your wallet barcode and its in your wallet in a matter of minutes.
