So.. since they last updated rainbot, wagering doesnt seem to matter much anymore. Even after wagering all day and busting alot, barely get any rain at all. Even when im chatting it always seems to just ignore. But ive noticed that the chat spammers or one word responses gets hit quite often. So everytime they get a chance to spam, they do for a higher chance in getting hit. For us players who happen to deposit and had bad run in games hoping to get hit by rain for a chance to redeem our lost coins dont really get a chance to do so. And whenever i do get hit by one. Its the really tiny ones and always miss out of the bigger drops. I could be wrong about how the rainbot drops rains but im almost sure wagering di not weigh in as much as it used to. Some players who jusy logged on, say a few things on chat while have not yet wagered gets hit by the rain. Happened to me once, so i know its a possibility, which makes no sense. I know its random, but its promoting to have players to spam chat.. make alts and spam at the same time.. 

 I am just ranting, but i wish things were different or have the old bot back. But we cant have our ways all the time.

Well of course i am not sure of this but i believe it choses 5 from wagering people and 5 from chatting people, of course i have no proof of this, but generally, i see there in the rain 5 people who are actively chatting and 5 i dont see in chat, which I assume were playing at that moment.

Actually this may be happening, even in the Portuguese chat where there are less people but many spammers and multi accounts, this happens a lot for, and we are always trying to find a way in this but they are persistent, with that good bettors are harmed while the spammers and multi accounts are always getting wet in the rain.

I've never seen an explanation of how rainbot works.  Early on they made pretty clear they were not going to say how it worked but it was clearly tied to wagering.  If it's broader now, I like that, but I agree, there is a lot of worthless spam that it should ignore or mods should be allowed to mute by having a clear rule against it as well as other meaningless chat like thanking the bot or commenting on it.

We haven't changed any of the algorithm on how rainbot works since it was first created. I am not sure what you are referring to?

Chat has no influence on the rain likelihood, wagering gets you a ticket based on your rank with all the other people in your chat channel. For example, the higher wager (since last rain) gets the most tickets to the "rain lottery" and the least gets the fewest (1). If there arent enough tickets being consumed by the wagering people, then a free ticket is provided to anyone who has spoken in chat (since last rain.)

This is how it has always worked and we haven't changed it for a long time now.

Just because you have more tickets, doesn't mean you are guaranteed to be rained on. Its also very likely that there are others wagering much more than you during your gambling sessions, and therefore you aren't as likely and/or lucky. The other thing to consider, is there is also a cooldown on how often you can be rained on. I am also fairly certain there is a feature where if you are in multiple chat rooms, you are less likely to receive rain, due to trying to abuse the system.
