CAPT.DEADPOOL Posted January 13, 2019 #1 Posted January 13, 2019 Many altcoins are scams and many ico are also scams how to avoid these things.
clariaaaa Posted January 13, 2019 #2 Posted January 13, 2019 Do not click on any links in from any emails whatsoever. Instead, just go directly to the sender’s website via your browser. Always double check and recheck again the domain within the browser. There are alot sites and larger ICOs targeted by scammers, a clone site is still active and for safety reasons (and as a service to the community as a whole) we prefer to omit the link. And this avoids being phished too
anonnep Posted January 13, 2019 #3 Posted January 13, 2019 phising link can be dangerous ... and u need to pay attension in different kind of news before buying any coin
Kate Posted January 19, 2019 #4 Posted January 19, 2019 Do research about the coin or Ico your going to invest in Check the team and whitepaper and check if its a coppied one Check reddit and google for warnings If all of these are clear then invest.
jualid Posted January 19, 2019 #5 Posted January 19, 2019 Check the teams behind the project, check their linkedin profile, is it fake or not. Also check their bitcointalk thread, whitepaper and join the telegram group of the project.
williamshennie9 Posted January 19, 2019 #6 Posted January 19, 2019 Usually a google search can do the trick. For me, I wanted to take advantage of 2 ETH forks this month. If you searched them in google, the word "scam" came up a lot, so then I knew. Always do more research if you are unsure
marsh Posted January 21, 2019 #7 Posted January 21, 2019 Do research before involving or investing any altcoins because it will help you for make good profit and avoiding scams. so be careful before investing.

Well linkedin isn't secure anymore and all the profiles can be given false information thats how I got scammed once I had checked the team Info and it was all good but sadly it was a fake profile.

Yep, people can make a fake profile on linkedin. Luckly we have google, just search the image on google to detect is it fake or not.
MianhaeX Posted January 21, 2019 #10 Posted January 21, 2019 These days it's hard to know whether the ICO is a scam or not. Unlike in 2017, almost all ICO is good.

Umm are you saying the ICO's this year its all good ? If so then i gotta disagree with you if you check the news reports and analytics for last years ICO scams you could see that there is a whooping increase in the scam levels. 2018 was the best year for ICO scammers and they have made a lot of profits from making fake ICO's and altcoins sadly many people have given up on crypto due to this.

Yeah, because of the success of many ICOs on 2016-2017. Some people start open their own ICOs and that's why there are so many ICOs in 2018 and there are many scams and failed ICOs too in 2018.

I don't believe in free money now days anyway, so much of it is related to taking your information and scamming you in a form of way. So I try to distant from it personally. Whatever people decide to do is up to them but I only stick to coins and providers that I trust completely. Almost all of them that come via email are scams. One's making promises that sound too good to be ture should also raise red flags.

I mean, i always receive an email about new ICO, airdrop and giveaway which is 100% scam.

I think you did not understand, what I mean is all ICO's in 2017 is almost good, unlike this year.
jackkid Posted March 4, 2019 #16 Posted March 4, 2019 The best way to avoid scams is to focus on learning about the ICO project you want to invest. If the project is prestigious, there will certainly be many participants
