Kate Posted January 22, 2019 #2 Posted January 22, 2019 Lol thats great news for traders but bad news for the exchange. I dont understand why dont they check the address before sendibg ? It barely takes a minute.
wry Posted January 22, 2019 #3 Posted January 22, 2019 I saw this but unfortunately didn't receive any of it. It was a mistaken airdrop, the exchange thought they were sending out We Game Tokens but instead sent out BTC, some other crypto and even some South Korean Won! It didn't all go to one trader and after asking their customers to return it they've gotten about half of it back. Still interesting mistake.
irawk0 Posted January 22, 2019 #4 Posted January 22, 2019 Between this and the previous scandal they had, wouldn't be surprised if they lose alot of customers. What's pathetic and shocking in my opinion is they actually have the nerve to ask for money back. Pretty sure the exchange makes more money than that and 5 million is only a small loss. If a bank where I live had this happen they would've rather taken the loss to avoid being incompetent in everyone's eyes.

Still interesting mistake. Well thats nice of the traders too return them back. Maybe the site could offer them some incentive while depositing or withdrawing like lowering the fees for whoever had sent them back the btc. 2 hours ago, DarkBlood069 said: Wow, asking for their money back, desperate times comes desperate measures I'd say. Well its 5 Million Dollars And any exchange loosing that much money would immediately go into a huge debt and eventually shutdown even though they spoiled their reputation it will dug deep down and planted there.
KiXxnTRiXx Posted January 22, 2019 #7 Posted January 22, 2019 wowowowow.. dayum... thats one big mistake! accidently? ouch... how can you accidently send 15 million worth though? thats too big of a mistake to make not to double check or even triple check before confirming.. heck i even double check my tips to make sure i send 10k and not 100k.. 15 million... dayum, wish i could get that lucky! hahaha jk..
williamshennie9 Posted January 22, 2019 #8 Posted January 22, 2019 Wow, that's sure some lucky traders! I would think most of them withdrew the free btc and smiled all the way home But in all honesty, they should have had the proper procedures in place to prevent this from happening.
Etude Posted January 22, 2019 #9 Posted January 22, 2019 Seems like a lucky accident for the traders/exchangers on this Korean Exchange platform! That is a large amount of money to be accidentally given out!
Babagucci Posted January 22, 2019 #10 Posted January 22, 2019 Thats crazzzzy..i wonder how much each trader received in there accounts. i would certainly do the same thing and try to immediately withdraw as much as i could lol...I just don't understand how these exchanges are making such massive errors with users funds. I feel like you here a story like this all the time now.
CAPT.DEADPOOL Posted January 22, 2019 #11 Posted January 22, 2019 The guys is very lucky because accident send a lot of bitcoin owner of bitcoin trying to contact the admin of exchanger buti i don't think if guys back to the owener.
xtinepink Posted January 29, 2019 #12 Posted January 29, 2019 That’s insane if you receive that huge amount in your account, although I don’t believe that it was sent 5m and then withdrawn because most of the exchange have limited withdrawals especially if they did not take kyc, that’s what I know since most of the exchanges now a days lets you do a kyc if not then you will have a low or take minimum payout.
neich Posted February 2, 2019 #13 Posted February 2, 2019 lol! instant mil haha. things like this will never happen to me
polor12 Posted February 2, 2019 #14 Posted February 2, 2019 why they didnt wd all..no reason for them not to.. but 5 mil...the value of that in what currency usa euro etc...1462.53 bts..
Furlicious Posted February 2, 2019 #15 Posted February 2, 2019 Hahaha! Yeah i have read about this news. Heard its system went wrong during their Airdrop. The exchanger has notified all the receivers and asked for the btc to be returned to them. Heard that some has promised to comply. Not too sure if its true tho. Its a good lesson learnt there i guessed for the exchanger team. They must have not been doing their due dilligence at work. Well if im one of the receivers, i will contact the support to verify this matter. Do not wanna get involved with any fraud issues and ruin my life.
