Cheetos1337 Posted January 23, 2019 #1 Posted January 23, 2019 In the release made by Edward of the sneak peek of Stake 2.0, we can see a few new games such as Video Poker and Limbo. Video Poker is pretty straight forward, but what could Limbo be? When I was looking back at the sneak peek for a second time, I read the chat that all these fruity fruits were talking about, and one of the conversations came to my attention more than the others and got me intrigued about what I had just read... It's the conversation of the first 4 messages where they are talking about Betting On Players. I'm not sure where to go from there... Will we be able to place bets on players and whoever makes the most profits and the best Win/Loss % gives us money in return? Will it look like sports betting? Will it be some kind of loan we give this player? What will it be like? Let me know what you think about this whole Betting on Players thing because I truly think that this is an interesting hidden easter egg we need to talk about. P.S. Fix the grammar in your sneak peeks lol
LachlanReid Posted January 23, 2019 #2 Posted January 23, 2019 I'm really looking forward to video poker! However I'd really like to see a 'Stake Poker Client'. I'm an avid poker player and I feel like I'd easily make loads of money that way. The betting on players, if it's what it says on the tin, will be quite groundbreaking in terms of changes to Stake. Exciting times! Limbo sounds quite interesting, I guess we'll wait and see!
KiXxnTRiXx Posted January 24, 2019 #3 Posted January 24, 2019 Oh good eye, i didnt even look into that much to notice.. lol.. i wonder what thats for! betting on players... hmmm.,. maybe its like bet on a player to win or to bust? lololol that would be hillarious.. or perhaps like a race.. interesting though.. guess we will have to wait and find out what thats all about.. or maybe its just there for testing or to troll people that ys attention to details.. hahaha
Babagucci Posted January 24, 2019 #4 Posted January 24, 2019 It must be Stakrs way of giving us a hint for what's to come. With Stake 2.0. it's definitely exciting times as we see what becomes the new stake.
Etude Posted January 24, 2019 #5 Posted January 24, 2019 They are referring to the Sportsbetting part that is coming to Stake soon. Nishioka is a real professional tennis player afaik. 😛
jualid Posted January 24, 2019 #6 Posted January 24, 2019 I also hyped on stake new games Limbo. 1 hour ago, Etude said: They are referring to the Sportsbetting part that is coming to Stake soon. Please help me out here Is it something where people play against people? Or is it still People vs House? Limbo sounds interesting, like any other game that would be introduced Maybe it's a newer version of Chartbet, since it wasn't there in the sneak peak. But Then again, Edward said this: Interesting stuff. Maybe then Limbo isn't a multiplayer game. Neither is Video Poker. Confusion! 6 hours ago, Cheetos1337 said: It's the conversation of the first 4 messages where they are talking about Betting On Players. I'm not sure where to go from there... I read the chat too earlier, but let it go because I thought they were trolling lol. But now that you put sports betting in, I do this it's possible. Maybe like races, but now players are allowed to bet on other players. But this wouldn't make too much sense seeing that a few players (Like Sam in the races) will most definitely always make most profit! haha! Who knows where this might be going. Because betting on players is a risky business for Stake. Players could decide on strategies that would make the odds of a specific player very low to win, but then make him win so everyone makes profit. It'll be very complex and will definitely put Stake in loss. I'm interested to see where this goes. Lets hope for some sick games PS. Limbo might be related to the chat shown in the sneak peak. Maybe limbo is when players play limbo, the non players can bet on the players. Who knows
Kate Posted January 24, 2019 #8 Posted January 24, 2019 Really looking forward for the new update of Stake 2.0 I want to see how did they implement poker in stake and find out what limbo is.

It should be Player vs House. And the game actually already explained by Dan's thread in here :https://forum.stake.com/topic/18071-📢-the-influence-of-poker-on-modern-gambling-and-jacks-or-better/ 9 hours ago, Cheetos1337 said: When I was looking back at the sneak peek for a second time, I read the chat that all these fruity fruits were talking about, and one of the conversations came to my attention more than the others and got me intrigued about what I had just read... Player vs player is more like sports betting. or we can play together (multiplier) with the same seed that generated by the server. Maybe the chartbet will be the first player vs player that being implemented. I'm still curious about Limbo one because I search at google and it was a horror game. Can't really wait to see those new games!

I might bet on some UFC, or another Mayweather fight, but I'm not generally interested in sports-betting-- I forget that it's such a huge industry sometimes.

Well yeah but i think what they are trying to do is implement a similar game with a similar code hence poker and see what all bugs or problems could arise while playing the game like for eg : Players cant bet more than x number or something and then they will think whether if it would be a good idea to implement another similar game like poker so if they choose yes then yeah sports betting will be eventually released.
bmg Posted January 27, 2019 #15 Posted January 27, 2019 I can't wait to play the new games that are coming soon. I just hope they get here and we can all win big on them. Good luck to everyone.🍀💚🤗

polor12 Posted February 25, 2019 #17 Posted February 25, 2019 how would that work exactly.. only thing that might come in to mind.. is a big pot...and will be split among the winners.. unless 1 person take on all bets.. but must have a good amount to cover all.. prize pool is the third option..hopefully they would get in more detailed..
FotisNt Posted February 25, 2019 #18 Posted February 25, 2019 Well, didn't happen, however 2.0 has much more better features and multipliers so,, who cares?:D
