I remember a hand years ago where I went all in with absolute rags just to blind steal and somehow hit a full house on the river, and the guy tilted so hard he didn't play for a month. That 10% skill probably kicked in when I decided to use that crazy win as my table image for the next two hours.

If you want to tip the scales toward that tiiny slice of skill, start tracking your session notes immediately after you stand up from the table while the reads are still fresh.

It really does feel like a 90% luck game until you sit with someone who peels apart every bet sizing tell like an onion. My personal take is the skill only reveals itself over thousands of hands but on a single Tuesday night anything can happen.

fr i once sat at a 1/2 table for 6 hours and only won a single pot where i bluffed with 7 2 offsuit and the villain folded kings face up. that 10% skill is just knowing when to get lucky i guess lol

I spent three monts religiously logging every session and the brutal reality was my biggest winning nights were always when I hit my draws way above expectation, not when I thought I played particularly well.

On a single hand luck steamrolls everything but over a month the guy who always 3 bets too wide bleeds off his rent while the nit picks up crumbs, so I lean more toward the grind rewarding discipline than the coinflip fantasy.
