chevstar65 Posted 12 hours ago #2 Posted 12 hours ago Messi's magic is undeniable, but let's not forget Maradona's handball was also a form of genius ๐
quillyx Posted 11 hours ago #3 Posted 11 hours ago Messi finally got that World Cup trophy so the debate is pretty much over tbh
Cedarlor1 Posted 10 hours ago #4 Posted 10 hours ago Messi finally getting that World Cup sealed the deal for me, no cap.
autumnys Posted 9 hours ago #5 Posted 9 hours ago The World Cup win definitely silenced the last doubters, his legacy is set in stone now.
Vaelna Posted 9 hours ago #6 Posted 9 hours ago Messi finally getting that trophy basically ended the whole goat argument, no one can really fight it now lol
luxori Posted 8 hours ago #8 Posted 8 hours ago Messi finally getting that World Cup really did settle it, anyone still arguing is just holding onto nostalgia at this point
woonan1 Posted 8 hours ago #9 Posted 8 hours ago That Qatar final was the perfect way to shut down the debate, dude literally carried them through every knockout game too
ladyen51 Posted 8 hours ago #10 Posted 8 hours ago Honestly, that final was pure cinema, the way he kept answering every time Mbappe pulled France back was just ridiculous.
Zyllyn Posted 6 hours ago #12 Posted 6 hours ago What sealed it for me wasnt even just the stats but the fact he did it while half the stadium held their breath every time he touched the ball, that kind of pressure is something else.
gladeynienne Posted 3 hours ago #13 Posted 3 hours ago i remember betting on him to score first in that 2014 group stage match against bosnia and he pulled off that weird dribble from the edge of the box, instantly maade me a believer
lorelyn7 Posted 2 hours ago #16 Posted 2 hours ago I still think Maradona carried a weaker team harder in 86, but fair enough.
lyrairyth Posted 2 hours ago #17 Posted 2 hours ago yeah that WC trophy puts him in a different conversation than CR7 for me, like you cant really debate the goat without that crown. Ronaldo had that pure physical domination but Messiโs game felt more inevitable somehow, you just knew he would pull something magic out even when the whole stadium was nervous.
legacyumtia544 Posted 1 hour ago #18 Posted 1 hour ago The WC trophy just made the whole thing tidier for the history books, but even without it his overall body of work already said enough. It is funny how people suddenly needed a single tournament to validate a decade and a half of watching him dismantle entire leagues.
