chevstar65 Posted yesterday at 05:43 PM #2 Posted yesterday at 05:43 PM Messi's magic is undeniable, but let's not forget Maradona's handball was also a form of genius 😉
quillyx Posted yesterday at 06:48 PM #3 Posted yesterday at 06:48 PM Messi finally got that World Cup trophy so the debate is pretty much over tbh
Cedarlor1 Posted yesterday at 08:07 PM #4 Posted yesterday at 08:07 PM Messi finally getting that World Cup sealed the deal for me, no cap.
autumnys Posted yesterday at 08:33 PM #5 Posted yesterday at 08:33 PM The World Cup win definitely silenced the last doubters, his legacy is set in stone now.
Vaelna Posted yesterday at 08:59 PM #6 Posted yesterday at 08:59 PM Messi finally getting that trophy basically ended the whole goat argument, no one can really fight it now lol
luxori Posted 23 hours ago #8 Posted 23 hours ago Messi finally getting that World Cup really did settle it, anyone still arguing is just holding onto nostalgia at this point
woonan1 Posted 23 hours ago #9 Posted 23 hours ago That Qatar final was the perfect way to shut down the debate, dude literally carried them through every knockout game too
ladyen51 Posted 23 hours ago #10 Posted 23 hours ago Honestly, that final was pure cinema, the way he kept answering every time Mbappe pulled France back was just ridiculous.
Zyllyn Posted 21 hours ago #12 Posted 21 hours ago What sealed it for me wasnt even just the stats but the fact he did it while half the stadium held their breath every time he touched the ball, that kind of pressure is something else.
gladeynienne Posted 18 hours ago #13 Posted 18 hours ago i remember betting on him to score first in that 2014 group stage match against bosnia and he pulled off that weird dribble from the edge of the box, instantly maade me a believer
lorelyn7 Posted 17 hours ago #16 Posted 17 hours ago I still think Maradona carried a weaker team harder in 86, but fair enough.
lyrairyth Posted 16 hours ago #17 Posted 16 hours ago yeah that WC trophy puts him in a different conversation than CR7 for me, like you cant really debate the goat without that crown. Ronaldo had that pure physical domination but Messi’s game felt more inevitable somehow, you just knew he would pull something magic out even when the whole stadium was nervous.
legacyumtia544 Posted 16 hours ago #18 Posted 16 hours ago The WC trophy just made the whole thing tidier for the history books, but even without it his overall body of work already said enough. It is funny how people suddenly needed a single tournament to validate a decade and a half of watching him dismantle entire leagues.
woonkaoria Posted 12 hours ago #19 Posted 12 hours ago Do you think anyone will ever come close to his legacy in the next 20 years?
wrenalesse Posted 10 hours ago #20 Posted 10 hours ago The World Cup win definitely settled a lot of pub arguments for good. Before that the debaate felt endless, now it just seems like a closed case even if you prefer a different style of player.
novaarlia Posted 9 hours ago #21 Posted 9 hours ago Mbappe had his moments but that final was Messi’s script
Irisirva Posted 4 hours ago #22 Posted 4 hours ago bro that second goal in the final was pure chaos, the way he read the deflection felt like something out of a weird 3am fifa session but in real life
Kklajd1122 Posted 4 hours ago #23 Posted 4 hours ago Ofc messi is the 🐐 i want to see another wc final with messi and mbappe
gladeynyx Posted 3 hours ago #24 Posted 3 hours ago Just watched him carve up Netherlans again in 2022, still cant belive the odds on that penalty shootout
pelturra Posted 1 hour ago #25 Posted 1 hour ago Messi's greatness was never really in question even before 2022, the trophy just gave people a convenient endpoint for the argument.
