Ahmadelchapo Posted Tuesday at 07:11 PM #1 Posted Tuesday at 07:11 PM A game of luck? Or a game of mind game
ivshengyn58 Posted yesterday at 05:42 PM #2 Posted yesterday at 05:42 PM It’s both tbh, short term luck can carry you but over time it’s all about reading people and staying disciplined.
havenra Posted yesterday at 06:47 PM #3 Posted yesterday at 06:47 PM tbh it’s mostly mind games once you’re past the beginner level, luck just decides which way the bad beats go
ladyora Posted 22 hours ago #4 Posted 22 hours ago It’s a mind game with a luck seasoning, without the mental part you’re just gambling blind.
Winexen6 Posted 22 hours ago #5 Posted 22 hours ago Honestly it's a mind game wrapped in luck's packaging. You can't control the cards but you can control how everyone at the table perceives them.
maxe34dtal3 Posted 20 hours ago #6 Posted 20 hours ago no cap bro, it's all about playing the player, not just the cards ?
kendallixvi Posted 19 hours ago #7 Posted 19 hours ago The word "luck" always feels like a placeholder for variance you haven't figured out how to explain yet.
frostorvi Posted 17 hours ago #8 Posted 17 hours ago Its pure mental chess when you stare down a river bet with second pair knowing villian bluffs 70% of his missed draaws
lorelyn7 Posted 16 hours ago #9 Posted 16 hours ago I once folded pocket aces on the flop because the guy across from me had this weird lip twitch every time he hit a monster, and sure enough he showed a flopped set. Made me a believer that it's way more about reading people than whatever two cards you're holding.
Ryxoslyn Posted 16 hours ago #10 Posted 16 hours ago feel like its a mind game with a splash of chaos, especially in omaha where the odds flip so fast
krxalra361 Posted 15 hours ago #12 Posted 15 hours ago Mind games for sure, bluffing my way through Texas Hold'em tonight.
lilyaryth Posted 9 hours ago #13 Posted 9 hours ago Do you think the luck side kicks in more when everyones deep stacked or shorstacked?
loranienne Posted 6 hours ago #14 Posted 6 hours ago It always felt like a mental chess mtach the moment you stop staring at your own cards and start watching how long the other guy takes to check.
synaessa Posted 5 hours ago #15 Posted 5 hours ago Ever folded a royal draw cause you just knew the other guy had the nuts
zyxureon Posted 3 hours ago #16 Posted 3 hours ago My gut runs the show, cards are just alng for the ride
voxoswyn Posted 3 hours ago #17 Posted 3 hours ago It starts as luck until you notice the guy who hasn't blinked in three orbits, then it's pure theater.
