Okok, so here me out guys. How about a name change system!?

I've been thinking about this a lot today and for some reasons I've thought of plenty of crazy ideas like a bunch of consecutives showerthoughts. So here I go:

• You are allowed a total of three different names on the same account (2 additional ones).
• You can buy those names for 50k sats.
• You can swap between names at any given times by going into your account settings.
• Your primary account name will be the master name used to login into your account.
• Other users will not be able to see your usernames. (They will only know if you tell them it's you)
• You can have seperate seeds for each of the names. (Each names will also have different stats with the ability to merge the stats and the seed in the account settings)
• You can sell them back for 25k sats and purchase new ones again for maximum privacy.
• I'M RUNNING LOW IN BRAIN POWER FOR IDEAS
• Basically a name = an Alt under the same main account.
• Alts will be banned
• New names under the main account will not be considered using alts for challenges.

Ok so yeah... That's pretty much it I guess  As mentionned this is a Crazy idea so will this ever be a thing? Probably not. Sounds good in my head, but I'm not sure as of how this will turn out in practice.

It’s not that crazy of an idea after what I have experienced across the internet on a daily basis haha! 

There are some very decent features that I’d like to have, but the major downside is that these features if implemented - might be hella’ confusing for the whole community! 

Nonetheless, your suggestions are really quite creative and could work with some slight tweaks!

umm..why bother everyone in stake has an alt and main account... you have great ideals..im just saying whats true..before the vault was added..users had their bank alt..where they use for only coin storage...main acc name just add bank on the end.. but really why bother having more then account there is no advantages or disadvantages of having them... the only i can thing of the higher percentage of catching rain..since tiping minimal is 10k..easier and faster to bring up bankroll.. there are people doing it...

This sounds like a good idea at the surface, except it results in 100x more work for challenges/moderating chat, and it'll never work. So many people have alts, and while I don't agree with 90% of them which are used to scam/imposter etc (the rest using it as alt betting/bank accs), the fact is it's allowed to have alts, and banning people's alts that have a lot wagered makes no sense at all.

Sorry but I can't see a legitimate reason to have multiple names in chat and for contests where multiple accounts are prohibited.  If you are worried about beggars you can gamble on one account and chat on another.  If you don't like the vault feature and want to have a bank account, do that, just don't chat with your bank account.

idea is good, put only one time deal, u can change only one time ur username if u wanna, that may work

No has you'd have to pay. And also Alts are a problem for ban evasion of abusers and permanently muted users.

The idea here is that you could change your name instantly in your settings instead of login to your account. The other names would be kept secret from other users and work somewhat like alts. You would be able to change your name and talk in chat using that name instead of an alt. And also, since they are all on the same master account, you could do your challenges on them. Not you sure if you read what I wrote, but everything was said

With our code base, this would be easily feasible, however there is no legitimate reason why we would ever want to build something like this.

Of course I read what you wrote.  Did you read what I wrote?  Because @Dan said exactly the same thing - there is no legitimate reason to have this functionality.

Multiple accounts are allowed for gambling, in fact it would be very difficult to prevent them, but not allowed for chatting, challenges, events, give aways, etc.

Dan and wry explained the negative sides of this, and I would have a few more to add. What to do when "one" username is muted, are you able to talk from another one? This would cause spammers and trolls to flourish on chat, get punished and again come back for more. The sum of the wagered on one account is not beneficial for the site, (I think); multiple accounts are allowed for playing, but not for the chat usage to prevent any potential abuse of the chat features, and multiple seeds on one account are problematic too and would cause a lot of confusion. Vault feature, restoring account ownership, etc. Challenges as it is already mentioned, basically, I see more negative sides when the suggestion is dissected

There is a reason users have never been able to change the username on site(s). One cannot scam from one account/username and come back with a fresh username (on that same account) or from an alt to do it all over again, it would be a big fat abuse

We have known HRs who scammed and scammed big time, therefore, they would definitely pay for the usernames, no questions asked, but would it be worthy? Imo, no, because that is only a threat for the community

P.S. Not arguing or anything, just giving my 2 cents from a perspective of someone who works for the site and encounters problems I listed above on a daily level
