Cheetos1337 Posted February 27, 2019 #1 Posted February 27, 2019 So I've just bought my first Bitcoins ever that I'll be depositing on Stake. I used Paxful since I could use PayPal and there was no ID verification bullshit when some random crook would sell my life on the Black market. It was safe and super easy. It took like 10 minutes, but most of it was just waiting. For a first experience I was pleased at how it went down, but for value I received... It sucked big time. I paid the guy 25$CAD and had to pay 29.99$ because of fees. I only received 15$ worth of Bitcoins and to deposit it on Stake I had to pay an other 1,25$ ±25 cents. So I paid 2 times what I received in BTC which sucks, but honesly I'm happy with what I got and I'm hoping I'll have a lot of luck

Dont they have fees option that's just affordable at least?
williamshennie9 Posted February 28, 2019 #3 Posted February 28, 2019 That's why too much fees you paid. Luckily you didn't lose too much money. Your fees should NEVER be more than 8%, and even that is pushing it. I think bitcoin ATM's charge around 8% or so, and they are known to be very expensive with their fees.
Kate Posted February 28, 2019 #4 Posted February 28, 2019 Well goodluck on the deposit and the bets you make there of and also a general tip so most of your money doesn't go one the fees. Just buy from LocalBitcoins because there they only take a fee of 15000 Satoshis and not a cent more.

But they always ask for IDs and I don't want some crack head to sell my personal info and just copy my card lol
irawk0 Posted March 1, 2019 #6 Posted March 1, 2019 Congrats on finally making a deposit (about time? lol). However your fees were outrageously high. At that point it's not even worth buying BTC. I recommend either a local store or a local ATM if you don't feel secure with ID on localbitcoins. If you have skrill there are peer-to-peer sites you can use though.
Etude Posted March 12, 2019 #7 Posted March 12, 2019 Congratulations on your first BTC purchase Cheetos but as others above mentioned you were definitely shortchanged in the amount of BTC you received for the purchase due to the fees charged!
Mistake Posted March 12, 2019 #8 Posted March 12, 2019 My frist deposit its like 0.0015k btc and max 0.007btc
HumberRolls Posted March 12, 2019 #9 Posted March 12, 2019 that we buy bitcoins with paypal and it has us fucked up with the commissions and worse so much that it asks for the verification
KiXxnTRiXx Posted March 12, 2019 #10 Posted March 12, 2019 Hahaha.. i also use paxful, but paxful will soon implement KYC if they havent already.. apparently the majority of the community that uses paxful wanted this implement in order to be a member and create a wallet.. *shrugs*.. also funny you mentioned the the black market aka the dark web, that is where i actually learnes about cryptos existence
bmg Posted March 20, 2019 #11 Posted March 20, 2019 I was super excited the first time I bought bitcoin. I gambled bitcoin for almost 2 years before I paid out of pocket for it . We have 3 btm's here where I live and it was kind of cool to buy them for the first time.

Yeah, I'm buying them from ATMs too now since the fees are a lot lower, I also sell them back using Paypal and I made 150$ profit in a week with my friend and we only put in 600$. Lowkey, it's better than gambling, although there's a bunch of scammers, but so far so good, PayPal is on our side for the disputes haha. (If you wanna know why I'm selling them now it's because I busted 700$ on Stake oops)
cryptjh Posted March 20, 2019 #13 Posted March 20, 2019 That's some huge fees your paying to buy bitcoins. unless your living in a place where you're not allowed to buy bitcoin, you should start reconsidering the KYC prosses, I have don't this on several big exchanges and can't really see the big problem.

It's just specific to one trader the thing you are talking about. Also the ID is uploaded to localBitcoins server not to the trader. The trader doesn't get any information of you at all.
