I saw the thread saying the World Cup is rigged and it got me thinking. Yes, there are always controversial calls, VAR drama, and some questionable referee decisions [Egypt's canceled goal against Argentina]. But calling the whole tournament rigged is a stretch.

Why I believe it's not rigged:

Football is chaotic by nature. One bad decision, one moment of brilliance, or one lucky deflection can change everything. That’s the beauty of the game.

With VAR, more eyes are on every big moment than ever before. Mistakes still happen because humans (and tech) aren’t perfect, but it’s way better than the old days.

Every team has complained about “rigging” at some point; winners stay quiet, losers cry conspiracy. It’s classic sports psychology.

The crazy high-scoring games and underdog stories we’ve seen this World Cup actually prove how unpredictable it is.

That said, I’m not blind; FIFA has its issues with politics, money, and corruption scandals in the past. But the matches themselves? Mostly fair competition + human error.

What do you guys think?

Is the World Cup rigged?

Or are we just overreacting to bad luck and bad calls?

Drop your hottest takes, best bets for the next rounds, and let’s discuss properly! No toxicity please, just football talk.

The game is rigged.

Might not be literally.
