slavaan Posted March 12, 2019 #1 Posted March 12, 2019 One issue that I think is not being discussed enough in crypto communities is where you can actually use Bitcoin. Instead of thinking about Bitcoin just as an investment, it's time to think about it as an actual currency (which was its purpose to begin with). https://all-stocks.net/featured-where-to-use-bitcoin-in-the-real-world/ If cryptocurrency has any future, more retailers and small businesses need to enable crypto payments so people would actually have a real purpose of having Bitcoin and could conduct business with it.
Kate Posted March 16, 2019 #2 Posted March 16, 2019 Bitcoin is a virtual currency and as of now i don't think there is the slightest way possible for it to be used as a currency around the world because of it's slow confirmation of transactions.
cryptjh Posted March 19, 2019 #3 Posted March 19, 2019 Bitcoin are the money of the internet, the lightning network can make transactions much faster and useable for microtransactions, you can also get a crypto credit card.
KiXxnTRiXx Posted March 19, 2019 #4 Posted March 19, 2019 It is bound to happen sooner or later, as of yet, crypto is still not that well known by the majority and not very many advertisement for it.. there are still a huge chunk of the population that does know anything about or perhaps have heard but vaguely, not enough to even spark aan interest... not everyone spends the day infront of a computer let alone surfing the web.. the odds of them knowing about cryptos would slim unless they know someone whos invested and/or involved within the crypto movement.. just need more well known and most frequent sites to start using crypto as form of currency which will greatly help get the information of its existence out to the masses.. i heard facebook is going to have their own coin, if that is indeed going to happen or has already, that would boost knowledge of cryptos existence in a big way, since facebook is globally used and junkies on it everyday lol..

Not only that, it's price is also volatile and has adittional fees which may cause the owner to have lesser profit or additional profit. Nevertheless, it is still good to have more payment options to attract certain customers.

I use it a currency. I bought games and hardware from it. You also can get pre-paid credit cards. Doesn’t work in every country due to laws. I‘m not a broker or anything that tries to make more of it or waits for a huge pump. I just see it as currency.
Moderator truemeng Posted March 19, 2019 Moderator #7 Posted March 19, 2019 i just used mine literally today, to pay off some things back in the Philippines while i am here in Dubai. it's faster and more convenient than sending money to my bank in the PH, have it withdrawn by someone like my mom to go to different banks or establishments then pay off everything i have to. 😅
Joshreyes Posted March 19, 2019 #8 Posted March 19, 2019 The advantage of bitcoin is when the transaction and on its blockchain technology, if it will be use as currency it will just become a normal money
skillex Posted March 19, 2019 #9 Posted March 19, 2019 Well to show off how really Bitcoin will replace the stock currency someday it really needs to at least be of physical use as what your topic stated and well thats a really very great and good news. Time will come where the world can never deny the Bitcoin's importance anymore.
rajamishra Posted March 19, 2019 #10 Posted March 19, 2019 hello friends its a future coin when all over world have lighting speed of internet then its usable for all ,right now its so slow to wait more time to trans.hope it will placed against currency used to all people in real world. hope we have move towards a digital world.
polor12 Posted March 19, 2019 #11 Posted March 19, 2019 I think this topic was already made.. overstock is one of the online stores that has the option to use bitcoin as payment...and around where i live a pizza shop and a filipino stores accepts bitcoins as payments.. grubhub shows a list of fast food chain that also accepts.. is already out in the real world..visa...is one company that supports btc.
williamshennie9 Posted March 20, 2019 #12 Posted March 20, 2019 I think as time goes on and people become more accepting of crypto, then more retailers and stores will begin to accept crypto as a form of payment. But it could take another 5 or 10 years before this happens.
Bigmann23 Posted March 20, 2019 #13 Posted March 20, 2019 truthfully i dont know of any where that takes btc as it is other than casinos. I would be cool to have places that take btc places that i shop for things at. If these places were better advertised it might help change peoples views of btc from some black market currency to what it really is the future of money.

We kind of do use it as a regular currency in a way when we put bitcoin on our bitpay visa card we just exchange it from our wallet to cash and use it as usd. So in a way we do.

Yeah, so far, the 3 most common places for bitcoin is on the dark web, online casinos, and trading exchanges (or buy and sell networks). Sadly though, most stores and physical shops do not accept crypto One day they will, I am almost sure of it.

In my language over 20 Webshops so far and i‘d Bet they‘re not the only ones around in my country. physical.. meeeh.. there is a map showing where, but it’s rare. people are just not used to it and bigger shops just don’t need it.

ko3uhatop Posted March 21, 2019 #18 Posted March 21, 2019 yes it will be slow with btc in real evry day banking

In fact, where I come from, I don't know whether anyone actually accepts Bitcoin yet alone any other currencies that are crypto. Only cash and direct debit where I come from. No organisations risk profiting with Bitcoin, they only want to profit from major $£ money. The most use exchanger for payment. So they have a middle-man. You pay your crypto and they will pay the owner Fiat in the end.
lolland2k Posted April 22, 2019 #20 Posted April 22, 2019 I went to the barber once with my bitcoins. but i think that it does not occur often... many people only use bitcoin online. and in some times the transaction costs are also too high.

FotisNt Posted June 1, 2019 #22 Posted June 1, 2019 Time will come where the world can never deny the Bitcoin's importance anymore. the whole crypto thing just started i u#guess
niki014 Posted November 1, 2019 #23 Posted November 1, 2019 hmm in some coutnries you can buy dinner or pay taxi or this kinda stuff with bitcoin even hotel or all kinda stuff if u know the right place but in my country you can only sell them for cash ( payed in hand) and then spend the money tho if someone would like to spend btc on sutff you could buy one of those debit cards with bitcoin and pay where da f you want isnt that the point of them ?
nuuuitsjdragon Posted November 1, 2019 #24 Posted November 1, 2019 Since this was posted in March, the landscape of retailers accepting BTC has definitely increased. The higher rate of adoption is recognisable in online services, with the majority getting on board. More positively, there were only so few cases in which a company/organisation stopped accepting BTC as payment.
