ayontop Posted yesterday at 01:18 AM #1 Posted yesterday at 01:18 AM When I first started playing poker, I thought folding meant I was giving up. Now I see it differently. Sometimes, folding is the smartest decision you can make. I’ve learned that being patient usually pays off more than chasing every hand. That’s one of the reasons I enjoy poker, there’s always something new to learn. Good luck to everyone at the tables! 🍀♠️
Waynera Posted yesterday at 11:00 AM #2 Posted yesterday at 11:00 AM It’s not i always fold if i don’t hand 3 of a kind above
ayontop Posted yesterday at 12:24 PM Author #3 Posted yesterday at 12:24 PM That’s a cautious approach. I usually look at my position and the betting before deciding, but folding weak hands definitely saves you from a lot of trouble.
rexick Posted 19 hours ago #5 Posted 19 hours ago Real talk, patience is underrated. Chasing every hand just gets you broke quick 😂
Ravenast Posted 17 hours ago #6 Posted 17 hours ago Took me way too long to learn that folding a decent hand pre-flop saves more money than it ever wins chasing. Patience really is the secret sauce.
Homwyy6 Posted 17 hours ago #7 Posted 17 hours ago Facts bro, discipline at the tables is everything. Once you stop tilting and learn to fold, that’s when the real profits start coming. 💯
sydneyess1 Posted 16 hours ago #8 Posted 16 hours ago Took me losing a couple buy-ins on pure hope to finally get this through my skull. Now folding just feels like reloading for a better spot.
sydneyari Posted 16 hours ago #9 Posted 16 hours ago Took me a while to realize folding isn't weak, it's just passing on a bad deal. Keeping chips for a better spot is its own kind of win tbh
dinai Posted 16 hours ago #10 Posted 16 hours ago Took me losing a few stacks to realize folding is just saving ammo for a better spot, ngl. Way less stressful too once you stop forcing it.
woonmia Posted 16 hours ago #11 Posted 16 hours ago Took way too long to drill that into my own head tbh, folding pre with marginal hands has saved me more than any hero call ever did.
kovalyn Posted 16 hours ago #12 Posted 16 hours ago Yeah, folding just means you’re not paying to see a flop you already know is gonna hurt you. Saves chips and sanity tbh
Vaelna Posted 15 hours ago #13 Posted 15 hours ago Yeah, the mental shift from "giving up" to "smart patience" is the real level-up moment in poker. Nothing burns a bankroll faster than chasing garbage hands out of boredom.
kimquk43 Posted 12 hours ago #14 Posted 12 hours ago no cap, losing on a bad call hurts way more than folding a weak hand ??
onyxaeni Posted 3 hours ago #15 Posted 3 hours ago man when i finally started folding those suited connectors from early postion it felt like a cheat code, my stack actually survives long enough to catch a real run of cards. ppl sleep on how much math goes into a good fold, especially in tourneys where the blinds creep up fast
voxoswyn Posted 2 hours ago #16 Posted 2 hours ago I used to think folding meant I lacked courage but honestly it takes more guts to wait for a spot where you actually have the edge instead of just gambling on a prayer.
Nylrizyl Posted 1 hour ago #17 Posted 1 hour ago That mental shift is huge, especially in tournaments where one bad call against a tight UTG open just torches 30 big blinds for no reason. Patience really is the edge.
