wry Posted March 25, 2019 #1 Posted March 25, 2019 (Attention illiterate forum spammers! Just like last time I will be checking back on this thread so please don't spam or post nonsense. I got to give TWO warnings last time, don't be numbers three and four! Now, on with the news....) I know many of you like me love Bitcoin Cash (ABC) as one of your favorite currencies. It's like Litecoin with low low low TX fees and short waits for your coins to arrive and if you had some BTC at the time for the fork you got some CASH for free! Two coins - one money, what's not to like? But I digress... Hitting the news today was that Lead BCH coder Amaury Séchet, is quitting Bitcoin Unlimited. This is no big deal until you realize that Bitcoin Unlimited was one of the original drivers for the creation of Bitcoin Cash in the first place. Couple this with the fork off in November of the SV people, and my new favorite coin seems to be having some serious trouble. He notes that he's really unhappy with how Bitcoin Unlimited has been implementing changes and is slow to fix bugs. Not the most ringing endorsement for someone who is supposed to be a partner. Anyway, how many of you like me are big Bitcoin Cash ABC fans and what do you think about the future of the coin given this development? There are so many damn Bitcoins and I honestly am not well-researched enough to give a conclusive opinion. Personal experience though, is that there isn’t much difference between the few - maybe with transaction fees being the most noticeable one (then again, not by a landslide). I still hope the best in the long run for BCH, if not for anything other than to see my love-hate relationship with the choice of green blossom into something worthwhile! 😍

This is a great point and one that he makes himself in the statement that he posted. You're right, it tends to dilute the power of the brand, which of course is why so many others keep trying to latch onto it! It has a remarkable number of forks now that have led to new coins. While the TX fee isn't too different right now, if BTC fees spike again like they did during the bubble the difference may be quite remarkable. Good Luck!
Mikehoncho Posted March 25, 2019 #4 Posted March 25, 2019 It seems to me, this could only increase the value of BCHABC. Considering the dev will be able to focus on it solely. Only time will tell. btw, LTC is my favorite.
KiXxnTRiXx Posted March 25, 2019 #5 Posted March 25, 2019 Hmm, im noob about BCH, what does ABC stands for?.. Is there more than one type of BCH im guessing?.. Sorry, newb questions..

Diluting the power of the brand is of course, a natural phenomenon as its common for others to copy. That’s our most powerful single skill as a race - copying. Putting aside the negative connotations that often accompany copying, I forgot to mention one big issue I have with BCH. If the coin’s core features have mostly been copied and with just some slight innovation, couldn’t they have been more creative when it came to names?! I may be ignorant as fuck about the origins of why they decided as such, but Bitcoin ABC... really? They didn’t even have to think much about the main part of the name and all they could add to their vision for a better BCH was just the first 3 letters of the alphabet?! Although not better by any standards, Satoshi’s Vision *slight cringe* sound like they are at least putting up a front that they care. 😕

Okay so ABC does have an abbreviation as Alternative Bitcoin Cash. I still stand by my ignorant comment though 😂, in which more creativity can be applied when selecting their new name. For example, Litecoin is a fork off Bitcoin as well correct? Impressively, although it does have its roots in BTC, they stand out as their own product and have their own identity whereas I’m not sure if BCH can ever separate itself from being tied with Bitcoin’s identity. Imagine what will happen if Bitcoin crashes one day... won’t be surprising if Litecoin is able to hold its own! 😋

Blocks are the same speed as BTC, but since they are larger, your TX is almost always in the next block, so faster in that sense, not in the sense of more blocks per hour or anything like that like Litecoin offers.
Kate Posted April 5, 2019 #11 Posted April 5, 2019 My thoughts are Bitcoin cash started out as a very great coin indeed it took the market by surprise when it was released for a low price people were believing and saying that it was another " Bitcoin related coin and won't rise " but little did they know ! Now after the fork i believe the coin has sincerely died in my eyes . I usually buy things from other people online and the adoption of using BCH has gone down drastically and this has lead me to thing it has died.
