polor12 Posted May 17, 2019 #26 Posted May 17, 2019 to be very honest.. never trust anyone if you cant really meet in real life.. there is too many ways to figure out how a person is real or not.. all is different talking behind a screen.. but in real life you can tell whats real about a person and whats not.. pretending to be something they are not.. or a change of attitude... knowing most likely they dont act the same in real life then in chat on stake.. that is what most people do.. pretend something they are not...not a con but in other words not themselves to put it in better words. so being something they are not is part of online life.. they can do or say anything in which they can get away with. never have real life and online life clash together. then you be lost in whats real and whats not..
laron Posted May 17, 2019 #27 Posted May 17, 2019 I think it's good to do a large hide only, and don't chat in the chatroom if you are in a fire it minimizes the occurrence of beggars attacks, it's just my opinion or if you are on fire, you better withdraw and then offline
nuuuitsjdragon Posted May 17, 2019 #28 Posted May 17, 2019 On 4/15/2019 at 2:02 AM, Asscorn said: So I've been fairly active On stake over the past month. I've discovered the community made a few posts and in the process I believe that I've made a few friends, maybe even a couple enemies. I know I'm a fairly good judge of character but sometimes I make mistakes when it comes to who I choose to befriend. Like most, I like to tip friends when I'm able to, without any expectation of any kind of return. I feel great when I send a tip to someone and they truly appreciate it. But every now and again I find people I thought were friends giving me not so subtle hints that there looking for more then a conversation. Don't get me wrong. I have no problem with a friend asking for some help or a loan, but when it begins to feel like the only reason they've contacted or ever contact me is to see if Ill send a tip or loan crypto, it kinda burns my ass. You can't exactly accuse them of it. (Well I suppose you could if your not worried about offending) but its usually not too hard for you to see that someone is being a mooch or even worse a con. Sometimes its not as black and white as that though. The cons are really good at pretending to be your friend, only to soften you up for a loan or tip down the road. Then there's always the players that want to be your friend right after they see you've posted a big win, tipped people or made it rain. That doesn't necessarily mean thier mooches or cons but it defiantly throws up a few red flags for me. I want to make friends here. That's part of the reason I come back to Stake. Its more then just a casino to me, its a community that I enjoy being a part of. However, like any community there's the good and bad people. You can't always judge a book by its cover, meaning that initial impressions aren't always a great way to decide weather to befriend someone or not. I have a ton more thoughts on this subject, but rather then go on I think I'll wait for other thoughts and opinions, then comment and question further. How do you distinguish between the good, bad and in between? How do you deal with them. I would love to hear your thoughts and opinions on this subject. Thanks for reading Friends ; ) In a nutshell, don’t. Or (if throwing logic out the window), only do it if you are able to manage your expectations. The online presence makes it difficult to accurately read body language, emotions, tone. This brings about crazy ambiguity and when combined with a gambling environment, makes misrepresentation of behaviour a norm. The main motive for most is simply - to gain profit. This overarching ideology puts the majority of people (who may not even behave the way they are in real life) in a selfish state/mentality. Naturally, this makes taking advantage of others a cakewalk as there is not much responsibility to bear. All I’m saying is when there is motive, there is bias. P.S. You can even go so far as to deduce that even my current post may be bias as it just another way of gaining profit.
