wry Posted May 29, 2019 #1 Posted May 29, 2019 Ever wonder exactly what a regulated crypto blockchain security would look like? Well now we know! Bitbond has gotten regulatory permission to offer a token that it will buy back in 10 years. This is essentially a 10 year bond and it was approved by German regulators. Anyone, EXCEPT investors in USA and Canada, can buy the token. I have to say I am very excited about this. While I have doubts the hyper regulated US investment market will adopt these any time soon, this shows exactly how crypto can be used to democratize finances. Bitcoiin started with the promise of "be your own bank" and while this obviously isn't bitcoin, nothing screams being your own bank like being able to issue your own bonds without investment bank or venture capital involvement. What do you think, good move to bring high finance to smaller firms and other countries or a regulatory nightmare waiting to happen? Kate Posted May 30, 2019 #5 Posted May 30, 2019 But what guarantee is there that would show or tell us with proof that we could profit from this in anyway.? What would even be the use of this in the first place if there is no profit for investors ?
williamshennie9 Posted May 30, 2019 #6 Posted May 30, 2019 Interesting concept. 10 years is an extremely long lock in period for these bonds. I wonder if users will be allowed to trade these bonds before their maturity date, and how exactly that will happen. Exciting time we are living in!
Shaniqua Posted May 31, 2019 #7 Posted May 31, 2019 Wow this is very interesting... much research must be dont on the bond conpany or ones issuing it tho right? So one is sure it stays in business for 10 years lol
