Hello fellow stakers,

I started gambling way back in 2002, where I play Bingo games. Since then, everytime I see some games where my chance of luck is going to be tested, I always find a way to sit down and try it.

This game of chance actually destroyed some of my other interest since it consume most of my time. And now the Casino is already online, I tend to stay on my computer and play, than going out.

Now, I know many people here stays on this site more than 3 hours a day. Some people are even online while they are at work. Now, do you consider yourself a Gambling Addict??

I considered myself that I have an addiction to gambling. How about you?

I think for me it's more of a social interaction that keeps me coming back here not the gambling.  I mean don't get me wrong I love to gamble but I find myself not going back to sites as much that don't have an awesome community like it does here.

nope I don't. even though I gamble practically every day I do not consider myself as an addict. I set myself a weekly limit of 500€ that spend on gambling. For some people it seems a lot but I only gamble what I can afford to. every Monday I deposit 500€ spread over 5-10 sites (mostly poker and sport bets) At the end of the week if I have any profits I withdraw my profits and keep the 500€. if I bust I deposit another 500€ next Monday.

But most of the times I end up in some profits because I mostly focus on sport bets and poker. I only spent 10% of my 500€ on sites like stake.

It needs some things to be an addict I guess.

  • not the ability to quit
  • neglecting your regular life or job to gamble
  • spend more than 5% of your monthly income on gambling
  • BEG OR ASK FOR LOANS TO GAMBLE!!!!!

Last one I find most pathetic. how in earth can you take a loan to gamble. 95% of the cases you end up busting. I even got a request this week to give out a loan so the player could pay off his other loan. Just hilarious. How poor can you be if you cannot pay back a 5k satoshi loan.

now this is 100% true. in most cases people who became an addict to gambling do this things. I admit that I do some of it like spending more than 5% but not more than 25% of my income but for me thats fine since I have my own ways to cover that up. the only thing I can't imagine that someone really make another loan to pay the other one. lolx. your just pulling yourself down.

Staying online does not mean I am a gambling addict. Playing casino continuosly and trying to recover debt does qualifies you as a Gambling addict. I stay online, because I have to it's how I earn money. When I am bored and looking for some fun, I play otherwise I am busy with my work online.

if you talk about me, I always play for money, which is not a pity. I do not go to the casino to earn money, I go to have a good time. And if you still get at least something to earn, but generally excellent

I would say definitely not. The point of gambling addiction usually comes in where the player spends more money than he or she can afford to lose. At this point I would say it is an addiction, or when the player spends too much time each day in a casino (or online) that it becomes a problem.

I agree with this. I haven't done any of the above so I don't consider my self as a gambling addict yet.

hmmm mlet me think about that for a moment....................... ughhh yeaaaaaa i am of course a GA. first step is to admit and recognize it if n e thing is to be done about it.. \o/

Nope because i have self control addicts are people who can't control over any of their desires and their need to do something.

I think so too, I was at home online when everyone was working, but what I used was not just for gambling, but mostly looking for info on the latest crypto or airdrop, maybe playing gambling is only about 1 or 2 hours a day the rest is not

I too would like it if it were changed, but it's not that much of a trouble for me to differentiate them, not worth the trouble of getting used to a new font! So voted no!😅

No i dont consider myself a gambling addict. Im not addicted im committed. When im committed to something im not gonna stop till i achieve what i want to achieve...

I do not consider myself addicted to gambling because the definition of gambling addiction to me is, someone who is willing to risk all the items he has just to play. and all you have to know is that those who are online don't play forever, maybe they like to chat in chat rooms. and those who bet every day are just an addict.

for me, I am a person who is addicted to gambling. I tried to stop, but in the end I continued to bet more in the hope of getting more wins. I often use money more than I should, sometimes using money for living needs, children's education money, or even borrowing from other people.

I have been addicted to coke, adderall, meth, cigarettes and gambling. When I found out I was going to be a father, I quit a $180 a day coke habit. I went from 120mgs of adderall a day to my regular dose. I drew back from the meth before it completely destroyed me and never a needle. Slowly laying off the smoking with the help of Chantix, about eight smokes a day now. All of these were not terribly difficult to overcome. No detox horror stories. No terrible come downs. It sucked but life went on, no problemo.

Except gambling…. I went into a casino in Kansas city at the age of 23 and won $750 on my first time! And with only walking in with $40?! Holy shit! I left, bought some cool things and some stuff for my car that I needed. All good, right? Well….then I started going back a bit more. I was in a crappy relationship at the time but sitting in front of that slot machine, I didn't have to worry about any of that mess. The world….faded away. One time I spent 32 hours straight in said casino. Your concept of time will really diminish unless you keep your phone handy and really take notice but even then, just….10 more minutes and I'll cash out. Okay, after I smoke this cigarette. Ah, but now I am up $17! I'll quit when $10 of that is gone, definitely….

Yeah I agree with bmg, I really like the social interaction in chat and in the forum, and even more - the challenges and other games they keep making that keeps me glued.

These days I am at home, waiting to go for my masters next year (couldn't get any internship), so I am on this site like all the time when I'm free. I started gambling online few years ago during high school and then whilst I was in University. I always grab an addiction to something, when I have something to do. I think that's normal - we all find anything interesting while studying xD But yeah I consider myself pretty addicted, but it's not because of the money, it's just the community, the fact that I want to try and "beat" the game, and try to play out strategies I come up with.

I obviously would love to win big, but even a small win with thrills keep me satisfied, as I came to gambling from "csgo gambling sites" so we valued any $ or skin. This is where i started and the profits I made in these sites are what I use, so I am not really losing anything except for my time. I am addicted, but I don't think it's a problem, yet. 😛 I think I will be able to stop when required.
