Chatbot now sends you a PM to tell you exchange rate for !btc command

Did you know that when you convert currencies on chat, chatbot PMs you instead than posting it on chat itself?!

This is a good development for various reasons:

1. It avoids spammy looking spaces especially when done multiple of times.

2. The said spammy looking spaces take a bit of space which may cause the chat to scroll faster.

3. Some people complains that chatbot receives rains while they dont. When this was implemented, chatbot never received rains again (at least what I observed)

4. It feels more private and that's the way it should be since you're the only one wondering what the specified price is cost on other currency. I just wish they hide the "!XX XX 0.XX" command completely cause it is sometimes used to abuse non active channels.

I know that this is old news for most of you, but for me, this is the first time I knew about it  

I always thought that it stopped working for no reason and the people are just rying it out if it works already. Silly me.

Unfortunately chat was filled with ppl doing coin conversions of no interest to everybody else in the chat, so now the !cv command works ONLY sending /pm to chatbot.....

What people usually do nowadays is not that cv command but "!btc eth 0.001" like this instead, and it works. That's why I wondered why chatbot ain't replying, little did i know that it sends them PMs instead.

Yeah they changed it from where Chatbot posts in chat to direct PM to you which is nice and also you can ask to chatbot rather than on chat.

I think this is a good move to try and weed out spam. I would like, as you said, the !btc to also be removed from the chat, because now it looks odd that there is a random command line in the chat with no reply from the bot lol.

really all that !cv got to go.. if they want to see the prices of each coin they should just come to forum.. it does have the live prices. its getting annoying to the point where chat should be live price changes.. meaning every hour it should post  each coin prices. instead every single player posting.. for what reason for them to post it,, it makes no sense.. suggest to disable that feature altogether.. it shows no purpose in chat.,. plus will help to stop all those spam..

Yes I noticed that update but didn't realze chatbot no longer receives rain! That's certainly a bug fix XD

Yeah i hate this the chat bot in english chat was probably abused thats why it was taken down.

Now wee hawe to pm him but it takes 5sec more so nothing wrlly change except you might get mutted if you try to see whats you balance and it doesnt work so u spam it and end up getting mutted and cry to support to unmutte you cuse you didnt know yeah... happend to my friend thats how i know xd.

yeah ikr? the seeds of the idea or rule were planted like a year or half a year ago or smtin.... i remember when it was first suggested by staff that we could pm chatbot instead of in main chat..... but i have no idea why it it wasnt made into a rule back then... its funny cause even now.... its not really a rule... they just disabled it instead of making it into a room..

for example on bitsler, they give one warning if the command is used in main chat, and if done again, the mods will mute you, then trust me the user wont do it again when their mute is over...

simple ez pz, didnt need to go and disable it =P feels like they went too far or let the problem get so outa hand that extreme measures neeeded  be taken.

idk feels like u know.... just put the rules out and mute ppl for not following end of story..  even now its gonna be spammy for a while... ppl having to be explained the whole thing about pm

Yes, I realised this a few days ago too. I was trying to check the bitcoin price at the time and saw nothing, then later I saw that I had an unread PM lol. Chatbot messaging me? I must have won something..... lol but yeah its a good move by stake.

I believe not all commands do the same.. some commands still show up in the channel itself and yesterday itself there was a new command everyone was trying - "!rained" and that seemed to work for some people and huuuge spam  

I also agree with the fact that they should probably hide all commands that are typed on the channel. The command can be shown in the PMs but not in chat. Other sites I have used previuolsy used to hide all commands typed by users, probably to avoid spam and privacy so I was surprised when I saw all commands being printed on chat. Especially ones like !seen or !btc usd 0.02.

maybe to avoid spam chat that leads to chatbots, most people who do it just want to chat and want to get a rain

Indeed, I like that new addition too. Now people won't try to showoff by converting in public chat. Many of them may spam at least 3 times a !btc usd 0.1 message or something like that and start saying that they busted which is annoying and spammy at any way.

everything you say is true. since the chatbot sent pm some spam is reduced and of course the chatbot won't receive rain anymore which makes many people angry Lmaooo

when we check crypto and other prices, Chatbot replies via PM. Unfortunately this sometimes works and sometimes it doesn't

Yeah i agree it does get really spammy in chat  sometimes when players do numerous times in a row.    So yes The Pm's with chatbot would be better most of the time.

Heya everyone!

So I have noticed that each time I type !btc to get the price, the chatbot sends me a PM. I'm not sure how all of you feel about this, but I find it super annoying. Also, when the chatbot used to publicly display the price, there was no need for me to check again.

I know the reason for this is to reduce spam, but did people really abuse the chatbot commands? I can't recall a time seeing abuse of this feature. So please vote in the poll and let me know what you think about this new way of the chatbot displaying the bitcoin price via PM. I would love to see what others think about this

You can still PM the chatbot. So if you type !btc in the public chat, the chatbot would reply in the public chat, and if you typed !btc in the PM, chatbot would reply in the PM. That is the way I am asking if people want it to return to.

if I'm more happy, stay in PM, more privacy, because if you go through the chatroom, for example you type !cv btc ltc 0.1, that's already a lot of beggars asking at PM, so it's better at PM to avoid beggars

I prefer it via the pm method because if you get it in the global chart then you will get a lot of friends requests from beggars asking for money from you so keep it how it is.
