ceastem Posted June 11, 2019 #1 Posted June 11, 2019 As you all may know, there are hundreds of thousands of topics already made here in the forum. What I want to talk about is having a section of "Golden posts". This section should be filled with "golden posts" or posts with high quality content, extremely helpful, and might answer future questions regarding the site and the forum. I believe that there are hundreds of golden posts buried deep within the different sections of our forum. Newbies in the forum should be aware of such posts to follow as an example in proper ways of posting or simply to answer common questions and worthy discussions. It's actually saddening that I came here at the end of 2018 and I ended up missing some valuable topics before that and it's too tiring to read each one, not knowing which is a high quality post. Newbies that just started out this year or a few months/days ago should also be able to see those golden posts too so that they may not end up repeating such topics to be discussed all over again if they have only the same idea and no further recommendations/opinions that may deepen the thought of the post. Don't you guys think these golden posts deserve a place here in the forum than being buried in the usual chatter?

I think they can manually put the border around other comments if they feel it is valuable. It will be super difficult imo to regulate any other users who get this feature on their posts.

I'm not talking about people having that glow to each and every comment or post they make. I'm just talking about The topics itself to be transferred to some "golden section" Having great contents and quality are going to be personally placed there by supports or staff. That's what I thought about than some people just repeating or asking things that can be answered by previous "golden topics" already.

The point is even if we already have 1000 posts made already, or even 5 posts. As long as the support or staff it has VALUABLE CONTENT, it can be transferred there just like how they transfer topics from one section to another Also, It's gonna be a great giveaway to know who posts the most quality content that will be transferred there

Oh okay I understand better now Sounds like a good idea for important topics, but will all these good ones just be dumped into the golden section? I feel like it could become quite disorganized like that. otherwise, only topics which are applicable to something specific?

That will be the beauty of it since you can get the best from every part of the forum in one place. Maybe have a search bar there or something since adding more sections inside the golden posts will give so much more work

But isn't it pretty similar to the current "pinning" of important posts at the top of each section? I suppose they can stand out a bit more, or something like that. What do you think?

That would work too! Well no matter how much we like this idea, it's a bit useless since nobody else notices this I was hoping to have more discussion about this especialy from the staff as to what they think of this.
