Local gambling games!

I would love to hear about the local gambling/betting games you have in your country. Most countries have their own gambling games or different variations of it just because it's naturally fun to play when wagering something!

I'm going to start with a few from my country which I think other countries don't have.

First is Kara Cruz! Someone already explained it here in the forum so I won't explain it further how it works.  It is one of the most common gambling here that are usually done by "rugby boys".  (not the rugby in sports) due to its low betting requirements which almost always cost at least 3 php!

another is pusoy dos, tong its, etc.  That is our own different variations of poker.  Tong its is played a bit differently and will cost a whole new topic in the future!

Unggoy unggoyan(act like a monkey), this is quite popular and its mechanics is very simple so I'm gonna explain it.  It works by having one deck of cards and removing the joker. After that,  one card is randomly chosen and hidden away.  No-one should know what that card is.  The cards are then distributed to the players. All pairs should be presented for everyone to see. After that,  each players will take turns to draw a random card from their side till one players is left! The one player is then called a monkey 🐵

we sometimes play this for fun,  but sometimes we wager on this by having each of us bet 500 per game,  then the loser loses his money and is distributed evenly to other players.

In my country there is nothing that is made here like in the Philippines they just plau all the games that are either made by someone else or played in another country

Awe I'm sure there is some! Even if our country is mostly filled with Christians,  and gambling is considered a bad vice, it's still fun so we come up with our own variations of it!

well of course there's always sports betting,  horse race betting, and then there are casino's which consist mainly of slot machines, keno, blackjack tables, roulette, and craps I think, I only play slots.  we also have state lottery's which are scratch tickets and Lotto which is similar to keno.

pusoy dos is the shet,, i play at a local house gathering with the pre old school filipinos where back then they were part of the military against the government., they been through hell and crazy shiet they done.. 13 cards hand set of poker you stack wrong you lose.. you poison every one you get double the pot.. meaning what every was the bet the losers have to pay another amount the previous bet was. also play tonits.. where game is all about bluffs..you get a person hook on your bluff you can win a lot.. but mainly i am there for the stories they tell,, luckily i wasn;t born then.,., i might have been with them..

Bingo and Tong-its are most common gambling games you see in most of slum area here. Even in funeral wake they are played most of the time.

I didn't know until now that unggoy-ungguyan can be used as gambling game since my friends and cousins only play that with baby powder on the face as punishment if you lose.

Yeah we do that too when we were young.  We had it a little different and bet with money now to make it more challenging

Gambling in my country is just like you would expect in Las Vegas. Flashy lights, thousands of slot machine, 50-60 tables. etc. I don't think there are any unique gambling games in my country, just traditional ones from America.

Hum i dont quite recall any such custom games at all. Only the Horse games from some other place as Horses are a thing in that specific place.

For gambling games in my country, I feel like a roulette game, but the prize is not money but cigarettes. there are also games like keno that guess the numbers and are announced every afternoon

I forgot to add too.  Cockfighting. Not the cock you're thinking of.  Haha 😂 

I don't know if it's common in other countries but it's very common here in the Philippines! Although I don't like it cause I somehow feel bad for the chickens.

Based on the comments above,  I find cockfighting rare since no-one have stated it before.

hello friends here in india its not so easy to find a local casino,but some state try to get some arrangements.still government barrier for breaks for spread more in india.

Right. Here in our town cockfighting is scheduled in the arena every Monday, Wednesday and Sunday afternoon.

Also it is very common to the point that you can see memes in facebook about father and "son"(🐔) 😂
