I do not know what you are talking about? I think it is just a Big stable coin, meant only for peer to peer money transfer using WhatsApp.

As kiki messenger just tried to do this and with an ico and they failed because almost all their customers who bought into it cant receive these tokens they bought because they are considered a security and US customers arent allowed to hold any of them.

polor12 Posted June 18, 2019 #4 Posted June 18, 2019 is another company trying to compete or try to get where is bitcoin is at.. facebook is already a billion dollar company.. they should just invest in bitcoin instead of making their own.. it cannot compete with btc or go the value where btc is at.. it took years for that to happen.. facebook already has a bad rep for giving out our info..and many people including me delete facebook account.. i can say only good luck facebook..Â

Sure, it will most likely be successful and people will use it, but these days we are all used to cryptocurrencies, so it is not really anything new.

On Belgian television they said that big companies like mastercard have invested at least 10 million USD in the facebook libra project. So if companies like mastercard are involved they really are intending to take a giant step into the crypto world which can lead to a huge massive adoption. But one thing I did not understand well is how they are going to create a stable coin. on the Belgian news they said the value of the coin will be kept stable cause a basket of different other coins will maintain the stability. But what if there is an overall bear market which leads that all coins crash like they did in 2018. How will this affect their stable coin libra. They should better attach it to the € or $. But well we will see when it comes that far. but overall I am thinking this can become the top stable coin in the world and I am pretty sure that this libra coin will be added to all major exchanges as a stable coin trading pair currency

Hoffguy Posted June 28, 2019 #12 Posted June 28, 2019 cointikka thanks for share! didn't even know they had a coin out now. to answer your question, I go with: Just a hype Because it will generate massive hype of course because facebook is so massive... but i think majority of facebook users don't understand crypto very well (i mean some do, but alot don't) so I dont think the uptake of the coin will be very good. Also considering all Facebook's issues with data manipulation in the past doubt they will be able to escape that, and some people might hold it against them when it comes to considering how trustworthy their privacy controls etc. will be on any new coin!
Herorhim Posted June 28, 2019 #13 Posted June 28, 2019 As long as facebook has the ability to keep it stable, it will replace all of the top coins as long as facebook keeps it anonymous, if it isn't anonymous, then no one would use it and it would just be a huge waste of money for both facebook and all the investors. I have a feeling that facebook will mess up everything with the coin and it will crash and burn
