Recognition of users with tags in chat

Have you noticed users with a star, flame or most evidently the staff getting so much recognition in chat.

Now of course all mods, support members etc do get so many replies and messages the moment they tune in to Stake. But that's only because of their character, popularity and well we all love when someone from support is around. There are also many "old" members that know each other very well and our popular.

But I'm talking about the somewhat newer users BUT who have either a flame or a star, get so many replies the moment they say something in the chat. Keep in mind I'm not talking about the ones that are doing rains/trivias etc, but simply ones who just say a good old "hey" or "good night". They get quite the number of replies - from users I'm sure they dont know of.

This may sound like a stupid topic but I do see that new users or barely regular users without any tags barely get any greetings. And in a way they'd feel left out and disappointed they even left that message in the first place. This happened to me too when I first joined, after being impressed with the site, before leaving I said "good night people" and no response and then soon after one with a star said that and got a few replies  was like ouuuchhh. Yeah back then I couldn't say if they knew each other and thats why they replied - but now I really do see it. People tend to talk more to the people who do have a star or flame. 

It's not a problem for me. But I think its pretty rude to see someone greet and just ignore them 💁‍♂️. I made it a habit to reply to anyone who greets (especially if no one else had). If a few did I wouldnt flood the chat, unless its a friend. I'm sure a small "hey or good night" from the more regular users to newcomers would lighten their mood and make them feel more homely here at Stake  and thats what we should be doing.

It's just a small initiative because I see it happen quite often. Lets not let the "tags" put them down  Although I badly want one besides my name lol

Good idea! I definitely agree that there should be more "chat rewards" for people! get people, talking more in chat and give them rewards!

That would be a great idea, but in the other hand, users would abuse it and they would spam way more. I guess, if there would be some spam restrictions it would be fine.

I agree with you completely!  I honestly do not chat a whole lot, but I have been around a while and I do stop into chat every now and then.  There are a lot of newer players that come in chat and say "hello" or whatever and I noticed also that they do go somewhat ignored.  I try to greet folks, especially those that I don't recognize their name, as I think it just help newbies feel more welcome...

The thing is see it is not the tags that make the players great them but it is the hope that they would do some type of rain or trivia so they get money thats why they get greeted

As someone with a plat star who makes it rain and shares with everyone, I am in the opposite boat..I have 30 people saying hi to me and I try to get around to everyone one sometimes I don't...just take everything online with a grain of salt and remember that sometimes everyone is feeling the most friendly, especial with the losses that happen around here.

I love the fact that the staff are more involved in the chat than ever before! I really enjoy the banter, the trivias and the roll huntts that the support members do. It really does help bring life into the chat.

i really dont like the star rankings., it really dont mean anything,,, is just show who wager the most.. that's kinda funny isn't.. its showing who gambles or spend money more then any other players... that also shows the target for the beggars to look at., for possible tips. instead of stalking the HR like most beggars do.. or watching how much you are wagering for each bet. if i cant hide my stats i wont be able to catch rain. which i thought stake has changed. but i guess they went back to it. the only ones should matter is the M and SS.. to see who are the moderators and Support Staff.. those should be the only one that matters..

Well in a way it does makes chat more colorful and more to interact with too. Abit like high school I guess.

there is up side and down side to that.. up side your been recognize in hitting something good and join an elite people for a certain time.. make a person feels important.in some odd way.. but it can be a target for many other players that will be nice say encouraging words... in hoping to get a piece of that prize. you will start getting friend request etc.. tags in chat.. wohoo.. you the talk of the chat window for the mean time.. then you start getting the beggars.. not passive just straight out beggars.. up to you to share. but once you do.. then is just window that you left open.. but for some  people is just another way to be notice... this is true.. and known fact.. you can be a person in trying to get into conversation and people still ignore you. then when u get fire all of sudden there you are.. lol.. is facts.. so sad to say..

Of course these people get recognized more in chat. It is something that draws your eye to it, and is appealing so of course these people are going to be noticed rather than the random with nothing next to their name. Also, I feel as though taht most people try to talk to hr or stars or other such things because they think they have a higher chance of getting sent more money.

As someone without any kind of tag, I definitely notice it. For example there have been times when i've came into chat said something like "How is everyone today?" and then no one responds. One person with a tag says Hi or something and gets tons of attention. Maybe if I rained more 😉
